I work at Starbucks. Period.
you draw on chalk boards :3

I do. XD

I sent in an app for Starbucks.
Don't you have to be 18 to work there though?

No, its just that you have to have lots of previous work experience in food or something of the sort.
If we put someone to work for the first time with the kind of customers we have, our company would be s**t.
Our customers want experienced, nice, fast and efficient baristas...
That and plus its no good putting someone with no business ethics or past experiences with an angry customer...they wouldnt know how to handle it.

Past experience with an angry customer.

Hold phone away, wait for them to finnish ranting, then in a nice polite, almost mocking tone, explain, putting emphasis on and explaining anything 'technical' like the word 'Customer' to them. Before putting the phone down.

Well actually they usually come everyday so its in person. Usually its right when you mess up or the next day, expecting to get a free drink to make up for it. Not very many people call unless they were truly pissed off.

-Ive had some one accusing me of not giving them all their change back when I actually did...she was just on her phone and coming through the drive through. She yelled at me and the manager and then her husband ended up coming in and appologizing for her actions.
-Ive had someone throw napkins at my face because I didnt give her enough.
-My old store manager had a drink thrown at her face in a drive thru and they drove away.
-This crazy lady comes in my store once a week and claims we didnt give her her credit card the day before and that someone stole it and used it. Which....she never did come the day before.

Pretty much every day a customer tries to start something with us because society says its ok to b***h at us and complain about their drink not being made right. We do mess up from time to time...we are human but we always appologize and fix it as fast as we can.

I still like working there though because the other customers are nice as hell and my coworkers are the best ever. That and paid vacation its AWESOME.
Granted you are paying 3 or 4 bucks for a latte or w/e but it all goes to where it needs to.
People just want to complain all the time.

I think the only time I kicked up a fuss like that, is when I thought the guy hadn't noticed which note I'd given him, even then it was a case of getting my change looking at it and saying;
"Sorry to be a pain, but I'm sure I paid with a 20 not a 10... just a sec let me check."
*Checks*
"Oh really sorry about that, I really am, it was my mistake."

Cos I know angry customers are enough to ruin anyday.

Iccckkk.
I have a strong dislike against coffee.
I can drink it and all, it just dislike it, strongly.
If I can have something else besides coffee, I'd go for whatever was offered.
I prefer energy drinks and hot chocolate.
