so i hope it's okay that i post this. Bosch is my favorite artist, it was long thought that the first surrealist painter was salvador dali or goya but then hieronymus bosch's garden of earthly delights was found. Today there are many interpertions to his paintings and a long list of symblism including alchemy, sloth, sex, death, the devil and much more.
here are a few of his paintings ^^








this last one is the only one i have seen with my own eyes... i almost cried when i saw it.^^

Oh, I love Bosch. His works are quite amusing, to say the least.

However, I think the nudity is a bit excess for Gaia Terms of Service. I apologize for removing some of your pictures.

Oh, yes, I am quite used to the sensuality that may be present in art, but the Gaia Terms of Service would not allow explicit content to be posted. Bosch's works are controversial and have been regarded as pornography by many of his time.

Yes, I like the first one very much. We once discussed it in school and it is aboslutly filled with symbols, and he arranged them all together so well.
It would take ages to find all symbols in it, at least it is pretty much work... mrgreen .
But I find it fascinating, how you could decode messages in the Middle Ages and abolutly everyone understood what you meant. These people were unable to read, but they could understand paintings quite easily we have to use many dictionaries for.
