Me: ... and there! That should be a good prologue.

Spyke: It took you THAT long to write a prologue?

Brian: Psh, I could have rewritten the dictionary in that time.

Spyke: ... how would you rewrite the-... I'm not even going to ask.

Me: Eh, I have a lot more written than just this... like a few parts of chapter one... and a sentence of chapter two... ok, it's a big prologue.

Brian: Oooo! I wanna see! Hmmm... WHAT!? I'm not even the main character!? But this is the Wingless novel!

Spyke: Well that's probably because... WHAT!? I'm not the main character either!? Who the hell is the protagonist in this book!?

Me: Well guys, I had to think on the readers' level on how I was going to write this. I couldn't just thrust them into your insane little universe unguided. There's way to much to take in. Thus, I created my new character to bring the main group up to five. It'll be Brian, Spyke, Ritz, Polka, and-

Spyke: Asterisk? You named him after a symbol?

Brian: Isn't that also a song by Orange Range?

Spyke: The j-pop band?

Brian: Yeah! kirikirimai!

Me: ... well yeah, his name is Asterisk... at least I thought it was cool.

Spyke: Let's see... and he's an orphan? Well let's not be a complete lazyass with our character backgrounds...

Me: Hey! It's vital to the-

Brian: Haha, and look at this! He's one of those quiet nervous kids!

Spyke: Quite honestly Brian, I would be kind of freaked out if I met you for the first time as well.

Me: Can you all just go away so I can finish?

Brian: Fine.

Spyke: We'll just listen to your new Coldplay CD in the meantime...

Me: ... wait what!? Not without me! *Leaps across the room to the stereo*

Spyke: Psh, I knew it. You're not even that dedicated!

Me: No... <.<... I just like Coldplay.

Brian: *Turns on Viva la Vida*

*Everyone bursts out singing*

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead, long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword, my shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

Me: ... ok, I'm going to go play Digimon now.

Brian and Spyke: NICK!

Me: Ok... maybe a little bit of writing.

Brian: We need to put this kid on a leash!

Spyke: Funny, because I usually hear Ritz say the same thing to you...

*Doorbell rings*

Me: Since when the hell has there been a doorbell to my bedroom?

Spyke: Since when the hell have we existed?

Me: And my imagination outsmarts me again... whoever you are, come in.

Polka: *Walks in* HI EVERYBODY!

*Audience applause*

Nick, Brian, and Spyke: How come she gets an applause!?

Polka: Because everybody knows I'm adorable!

Spyke: That's debatable.

Brian: Whatever. You wear pink, so you're a wussy!

Polka: NUH-UH!

Brian: YAH-HUH!

Polka: NUH-UH times a google!

Brian: YAH-HUH times a splakerdoodle!

*They run off into the house yelling at each other*

Spyke: ... where does Brian get his vocabulary from? And can't you control these two? It's your imagination, after all..

Me: *Turns back to my computer* Yeah I could stop them, but where would be the fun in that?

Spyke: *Sits on my bed and stares out the window* You are so weird.

Me: So I've been told.

Spyke: When are we meeting Asterisk?

Me: Soon... almost done making him.

Spyke: Is he cool?

Me: He turns out to be. But, as Brian said, he starts out as a nervous wreck. I think the best part of this will be evolving his personality.

Spyke: ... yeah.

Me: *Puts on Life in Technicolor and sighs a moment later* If only I could style my writing like this song... dammit, Coldplay.

Author's Note: As usual, nothing special. Just wrote it as I went.

I still adore your style of writing with these Hawk - every bit is usually enjoyable.

~~~
Hi everyone! I'm back for a little while. I don't like to make promises about the future, because I never seem to do things unless I make the decision a spur of the moment sort of thing, but I like to think that I will soon begin finishing up projects that I began long ago. No matter. For now I'm just going to poke around to see what I've missed in my long leave of absence.
[Sorry for using your thred for an introduction hawk, I hope you don't mind.]
