None of these even have attempts at titles.
The partial short story:
It was thunderstorming.
Just like on the night her whole life had been changed. The night THEY came. The night she was told she wasn’t who she thought she was at all, the night she had been taken away from everything she had ever known. She had been afraid of thunderstorms ever since. Of course, she was too old to admit it or show any outward signs when others were around, but the flashes of light and bursts of noise put her in a constant state of agitation, and inside…she was dying.
This night was no different. Alone, she sat huddled in a corner as small as she could make herself, clutching her knees to her chest and trying to block out everything. The tiny window in her room…if you could call it a room…barely let in the daylight but was just perfect to let in the flashes of lightning.
A booming clap of thunder made her jump sky-high and hid the sound of her door opening, but the sudden light from the outside hallway outlining the shadow of a tall, powerfully built man was sufficient to alert her of the visitor.
She cringed. These visits were never pleasant.
Training or testing, it was always one of the two. Both were usually very harsh, very draining, and very, very painful.
They never even told her what the point of these little sessions were for. They were testing her, yes, but she had no idea why…Nor what she was training for. They always stressed control. Control over her emotions, her power, her body.
She stood, her small frame facing the large one in her doorway.
Partial song #1 which has no tune yet:
I’ve been searching for something Looking for someone true The piece that’s always missing My fairy tale ending Someone like you
When will you realize? When will you understand? All this time, The one I need The voice in my head Is you
On my mind always I love you, can’t you see? Every second I spend with you I treasure It’s never enough, I want a million more.
When will you realize? When will you understand? All this time, The one I need The voice in my head Is you
Partial song #2:
You told me you’d always be there Walk with me through it all Be by my side forever You said if I was in need You’d be there for whatever So where are you now? And then, I hear you say
My child, my child I did not leave you When you stumble, when you fall When only one set of footsteps you find My child, my child I did not leave you It was then, oh it was then That I carried you.
Looking back on my life, I see it All those times when I was down Troubled and worried and broken Only one foot of footprints are there What happened to always? And then your voice rings over the noise
My child, my child I did not leave you When you stumble, when you fall When only one set of footsteps you find My child, my child I did not leave you It was then, oh it was then That I carried you.

Okay, first of all, why exactly does everyone care about talent, anyway? All it is is something you can naturally do. Why is everyone so hyped up about it? Did those with talent work to get what they have? No! It just came with the package! Yeah, sure, they're lucky, but should we really look up to them?
Skill is what really matters! Skill is developed by hard work and wanting to get better. Talent can only get you so far; if you're skilled, then you can know that you worked hard and you deserve everything! I tell you the truth: I have zero talent in art. Nada. Zip. None. But am I skilled??? Heck yes! I've been working for years now! Listen, if someone or yourself believes talent is what matters, then they are so wrong. Skill is worth so much more! SO WORK, DANGIT!!! Work hard, pray, practice, and most of all DON'T EVER LET ANYONE SAY YOU SUCK FOR HAVING NO TALENT!!! Talent isn't everything! WORK!!!! scream Really, if your talent has run away, just replace it with skill. cool You can do it. And also, revision has always been your friend--talent says "I can write anything on the first try." Skill says "If I work at it enough, I can do it."
So scrap talent! It's only a jumpstart anyway!
And I like the last song. mrgreen
