I can tell you from personal experience that telling them is only good if they themselves are or until you move out; and my parents 'were' the supportive kind until I said I was a furry. This is because the first thing that will pop into their minds on the word "furry" is bestiality. And that is how your parents come to utterly loathe you as their offspring or isolate themselves from you and start watching you more closely. I had to stay under observation for 2 years before I could get my parental units to lay off and stop looking over my shoulder every five seconds. Still the choice is yours to make, but take it from my experience, most parents don't react well to their children being furries...
