Malkier was on of the twenty-four nations formed either during or shortly after the War of the Hundred years. It was one of the five Borderlands until it fell to the Blight in around 950 NE. But recently, it was reconstructed under the reign of it's rightful king al'Lan Mandragoran, Lord of the Seven Towers, Lord of the Lakes, and true Blade of Malkier and his wife, Nynaeve Sedai.
The Seven Towers Malkier is so famous for were also reconstructed to beyond their former splendor by Ogier stonemasons. The reconstruction was a gift from the Ogies of Stedding Shangtai for Nynaeve saving Loial's life during Tarmon Gai'don.
