Ear flats?

Could someone clue me into what these are?

I saw this picture:


with a quote of "30Mm Ear Flats
Reverse Point" underneath and I can't for the life of me figure out what he's talking about. I assume it has something to do with why his ear looks so weird?

The 30mm "ear flats" is referring to the plugs. And the reverse point is that weird thing on his lobe. Which... I guess he got done on purpose?

Yeah at first I thought it was just a nasty blow out but when I saw that "reverse point"... I was confused. Like it was intentional..?

Ear pointing is fair enough, but reverse ear pointing is completely new to me. I couldn't do it (The reverse pointing) personally, it just looks kind of .. icky? Like he has a small growth or an extra lobe trying to form XD But each to their own obviously, it just scares me everytime i look at it D:
