After imagining my own version of Sailor Saturn before I knew she existed and then finding out the real version of her. It always bothered me , why was she made the Sailor Scout of Destruction? It's true Saturn (the god ) held a sickle but I think that more related to the fact he was the god of Agriculture. I suppose the idea of rebirth fits in with that since it's usually associated with plants coming back BUT
Wouldn't have Pluto been the more logical planet to make a sailor of destruction because Pluto was the god of the underworld?

Huh... Boy this set a spin in my mind... but I would've never thought of that since I was too little to remember about that association

Well.. I suppose it would be harder on Naoko wouldn't it?

That means Pluto would be the senshi of time, the underworld, AND DESTRUCTION. Pluto would have to guard the gates of time... so basically she doesn't need all that power.

+ Destruction and Rebirth go together. They come hand in hand.

If Saturn didn't have the power of destruction, then she couldn't destroy that Pharoah dude (sorry, forgot) The point of Saturn is that she sacrificed herself. (in my opinion anyways)

Also, that means that her fast growth spurt in the fifth season wouldn't have happened.

according to greek creation...

The book of Metamorphoses, book one, lines 105-108

"After Saturn
was driven to the shadowy land of death,
And the world was under Jove, the Age of Silver
Came in, lower than gold, better than bronze.."

Saturn:Chief of the gods in the older generation of divinites. He reigned during the Golden Age, until he was deposed by Jove and his dynasty.

heh...my screen name Siren of Saturn smile The Sirens...get it? lol.
