I love all the classical religious pieces, like Mozart's Requiem. Most of them are in Latin, and they're beautiful to listen to so the religious context blows away like a fart in the wind. Most modern Christian bands I don't really care for - they sound rather generic. Besides, why would I want to listen to music of just one subject matter all the time? I imagine the lyricists would get rather bored confused

I just love plain ol' good fashioned 80-90's Rock and current/old Metal baby, you almost never hear "God is great OH PRAISE LORD JESUS" in any of those song categorys...well, almost.
As long as there are no christian views in the song itself, I'm alright with it.

Rarely though, I will listen to blues, big band, and jazz.

Psh, the only thing good to come out alive on this side of 80's rock is The Cure, otherwise, the best stuff was the synthed stuff.

If you're into metal or alternative music there are LOADS.

Napalm Death are the most notable. Their album "Smear Campaign" is about the discrimination Atheists face, religious governments and critcism of religion in general.

Here's an example from that album.

3. Fatalist

Though we later may walk
In a valley in a shadow of death
What should we logically fear?
Perhaps the complacent urge for a deity
To make us whole and guide us through
To fulfil an image that is cloudy at best

Where was the help previously
When appeals went unheard?
Huge effort expended in devotion
For nothing in return
Grimly clinging, predetermined
To prop up an image that is cloudy at best
Resigned rigid, predetermined
To covet a vision that is forced on the rest

Life becomes an exercise in cutting down your options
Existing becomes a joyless parade to the end

Life becomes a platform from which to attack free thought
Existing becomes a prison where self-discovery's forbidden

The fatalist

Any fool starting afresh would surely ditch this
After two-thousand years of schism
Only irreligious hearts can do the saving

I found this nice little song about Atheism. It's old as hell, and the video is cliche at best, but it's actually really good when you pay attention to the lyrics.
