Well for one theres the fact that the public is brainwashed to hate bush by the main stream media.

I'd hardly characterize the coverage on Fox News, the Weekly Standard, the National Review, or talk radio programs such as Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh as brainwashing to hate Bush. I'm not trying to be a naysayer here, there is bias in the media, but for too long I've watched Republicans shrug and curse the darkness while exagerating the disproportionality of media coverage. Yes, the three major network nightly newscasts are liberal in tilt. However, public airwave networks are NOT the only form of media out there. Conservatives DOMINATE radio media. Conservatives have won the fight for top slots in cable media as well, and hold their own in print media. Here's the kicker, more and more people get their news from cable and the internet than networks and print media. The conservative blogosphere is ENORMOUS (I'm actually part of it, I write for a conservative blog). On top of that, some fairly powerful sites for news on the net aren't exactly liberal friendly, like Drudge.

The point is the liberal media argument has been around since the days of Spiro Agnew sparring with the "nattering nabobs of negativism." In that same time, McGovern was crushed by Nixon, ditto on Carter and Mondale against Reagan, Dukakis was thoroughly beaten by Bush Sr., and despite the gushing of network beat reporters about how wonderful the Clinton years supposedly were, Gore couldn't beat Bush Jr. We're not up a creek without a paddle just because there's more liberal reporters working for the networks and the newspapers than there are conservatives.

But in my eyes its all about wether the majority of the public actually sees the conservative news and as far as I can tell, every airport, every resteraunt, etc. with a TV playing the news seems to be broadcasting some kind of liberal message. Example: Every time I walk through an airport the TVs are always showing CNN

Does your average person fly a lot? My experience is no, they do not. Now, does the majority of America drive a lot? You betcha, and liberal talk radio is anywhere between non-existant to a joke. Conservatives dominate talk radio. That means all those truckers, delivery drivers, cabbies, etc. who aren't completely tuning out of politics have plenty of conservative talk radio to listen to. Does your average American go to bars a lot? Yup. And most bars I've been to have several TVs, most turned to sports channels, and the ones with news on have Fox on.

I've been dealing with the liberal media argument since 1996. In that time I had access to plenty of conservative media, and have seen it grow, not contract. It was argueably a dead-end argument in 1996, it certainly is now. Media monopoly is dead.

I'm sure Obama is a great person, and for all I know, he may just be a good president. What makes me sick is all this mushy coverage of the guy, and he hasn't done anything to warrant it!
There's all these memorabilia and fanfare for the guy, and then there's the 180 for Bush, and it drives me nuts. I'm not a Bush fan, but I certainly don't hate the guy. There's no reason all this Obama-worship and Bush-hatred! This is getting out of control, people are just brain dead. And then I keep hearing people talk about how the democrats are going to fix everything and everything will be ok, because the republicans will be gone. Politics and economics are not that simplistic!

Right now, I kinda feel sorry for Obama. He's being put on such a high pedestal and if he doesn't meet the people's expectations, he's going to fall big time! The way I see it, Obama's administration is a large tower built on sand and there's a large storm coming. I'm not saying he's bad, just that he's not standing on much of a foundation. What is he going to do if we were to get hit again, or when other countries stop lending us money?

The only thing I can tell for sure is that Obama memorabilia is going to be worth a lot less when he leaves the White House.

I'm of the same mind-set. I'm not the biggest fan of former President Bush, I even admire many qualities about the man. I'm not much of a critic of him either (until the past seven or eight months). I also think President Obama is a good person, and wants to help America, but I don't think he can help America. I firmly believe Socialism is never the right path, even it gets you to the same place a Capitalist plan would (I haven't seen an instance in which this is true, but I won't give up on the possibility they're out there lol). And I also feel badly for the man. He sincerely thinks he's going to fix the nation with these policies, when all they're going to do is put us farther into the hole, which is not what he wants at all, and he'll be hated for it....

So this one time, my mom was in the rec room of her work and they were doing a puzzle of Mount Rushmore. Some young guy goes, "They should put Obama's head about riiiiight....there!"

My mom just gave him a look and said, "I don't think so." and went back to the puzzle.

+1 for mom!

You might blame some portion of the taxes he pays on liberals, but what the hell does government have to do with your bills? Those bills are voluntary expenditures your family makes for services you like to consume. You don't need electricity, cable, natural gas, and municipal water. You just like light, heat, and clean water.
