I can't believe I haven't replied before this!

The best books I ever read were just about ANYTHING by Neil Gaiman. Stardust in particular.

Neil Gaiman is the best. I read two books by him, Coraline and American Heroes.

(I think the latter is by him...)

*blushes* Shadow Heart by Laura Kinsale...and The Last Unicorn. sweatdrop

I don't know though...there are so many others that I could choose.

I've read a lot of books, and it's hard to pick favorites. Hrmm...

Any non-biographical book I've read is my favorite? Yea, let's go with that... XD

Let's see.

Tolkien. C. S. Lewis. Something by Ursula K. LeGuin. Or George R. R. Martin.

wow.. this is something to ask for eh?

the discworld series sticks with me deeply, lord of the rings has been thoroughly digested, happy rotter and all of his slash ilk and spawn are appetisers to mine eyes ...

the hitchhikers guide still leaves me fond memories, and i have spent countless hours in mr kings worlds of horror..

the best piece of writing for me though was the magician by Raymond e Feist.. i loved the pace, the scale and the sheer drama of the riftwar saga, and i'd have loved for it to have ended there, but sadly rather like another author we know *coughrobertjordancough* he does not seem to know when to quit.

or maybe it was thud by pratchett.. terry pratchett has done something with his recent works - he's made them compulsive reading. they're so splendidly good that you feel warm and fuzzy as you read them.. dammit, when is the next one coming out?

*grins fondly and has memories of Where's my cow*
