The #chan sites are easy to spot. Forums with tons of random porn and much grosser and disturbing stuff, some of it truly vomit-worthy. The members are over-aggressive, belligerent, crude, paranoid, and egotistical. And the site names are a dead giveaway: 2chan.com, 4chan.com, etc. Get the picture, dude?
If anyone decided they wanted a new site with "chan" and a number as the name, they'd probably get targeted by the #chan-ers and live to regret it. Now, something like "four chans and a baby" would probably be okay, since it's not the same format.
Also, #chan sites don't allow anyone but members to post, so you couldn't just ask them anything. I wouldn't recommend it anyway. Even asking a perfectly sensible question would result in severe and possibly unending ridicule and online stalking.
