Dude: Actually, you can judge all #chan sites alike because they're all run by the same people or people who used to be affiliated with them. The word "chan" is often used in conjunction with other things and as part of site titles, but that doesn't really mean they're from the same group. The #chan-ers are a specific group, and that is actually the title of their collection of sites. When you see someone talking about a "chan" site, chances are that's what they're referring to. On the other hand, if someone is talking about (just some wild, made-up examples here) Chibi-Baka-Chan or Sakura-chan or All Things Chan, it's probably not related to the #chans. Does that clear it up?

Purple: So if there's a difference between a "chan-site" and a site just with "chan" in the title, is the only difference that it has a number in the name too?
That's kinda restricting on something that's not actually a rule.
I mean what if you want to have a numbered site with "chan" in the name, and you've never even heard of the "chan-ers"?

I mean how can you REALLY tell if a site is a "#chan" site, or if it just happens to have a number in the title and a "chan" at the end?
What do you do? Post and ask? LOL

The #chan sites are easy to spot. Forums with tons of random porn and much grosser and disturbing stuff, some of it truly vomit-worthy. The members are over-aggressive, belligerent, crude, paranoid, and egotistical. And the site names are a dead giveaway: 2chan.com, 4chan.com, etc. Get the picture, dude?

If anyone decided they wanted a new site with "chan" and a number as the name, they'd probably get targeted by the #chan-ers and live to regret it. Now, something like "four chans and a baby" would probably be okay, since it's not the same format.

Also, #chan sites don't allow anyone but members to post, so you couldn't just ask them anything. I wouldn't recommend it anyway. Even asking a perfectly sensible question would result in severe and possibly unending ridicule and online stalking.

Well if that's the discription of a "#chan" site.
Then the one I found, is NOT one.

Because although there IS alot of random hentai pics (though they mainly specialize in h-manga), along with the "NO REAL" rule, they also don't allow the disgusting and vomit-worthy stuff.
Also I have made a few posts there (after watching them for a whole year to see what they were like), and no one was rude at all.

So I believe them to NOT be a "#chan" site, despite having both a number and the word "chan" in the URL.

As for all the "official" chan sites, perhaps you CAN judge them all together.
I just thought a site could be one by simply having "chan" in the name.
But if all that other stuff is included in the discription, then I guess not.
