~Humans~

Humans are the most common of races in the land of Aura Academy. Particularly in Prometheus, the humans' center of culture and development, they are the most plentiful of races. Of average height, physical, and magical ability, their chief distinguishing characteristic is an uncanny skill with tools and machinery.

~Elves~

Elves are one of the most ancient races. Highly skilled in the art of war and magical expertise, they are a fierce and proud race, both graceful and deadly. Elves are of all different heights, but are invariably quite slender. Their almond-shaped eyes usually run in forestal browns and greens. They are to be found most commonly in the forests of the land, roaming in small nomadic bands or living in villages fashioned from and lodged in the highest trees.

~The Tainted~

The Tainted are those unfortunate souls whose ancestors meddled in things that they did not understand. Auras are a powerful force, and those people who misused theirs often found that their offspring had strange characteristics as a result. One of the more common of these inherited traits was the fusion of animal characteristics with that of a human. Some individuals possess this trait to a greater degree, almost resembling an animal, others are nearly fully human, but have anthropomorphic features. The animals they resemble can vary greatly, very often being affected by their personalities and past.

~The Auto-Breed~

Auto-Breed or "The Automation"- Though generally characterized with any "modified" race, the Auto-Breed are typically human who in some way or another have reverted their former organic body matter (Ex. Limbs) in view for mechanical appendages. These are usually from the loss of other organs come in various forms. Auto-Breed are usually seen with new hands or feet but some cases go frightfully extreme with mechanical lungs and other "mock-able" internal organs.

Those who've reverted nearly every fabric of their bodies into machines are called "The Automation". These mechanical fanatics have deeply divulged themselves into a zealous organization of "purity" through "Steel and Spirit".

They are attributed to multiple cults which spring everywhere in the City because of this nearly all Auto-Breed are stereotyped as cultists or dangerous.

~The Gurnei~

Gurnei are a kind, gypsy like race, believed to have lived a bit over a century ago. Few have heard of the race talked about as anything more than legends in stories, but some claim to have found artifacts that didn't belong to any of the known races, seeming to support the idea that Gurnei did truly exist.

Though they are a kind race, when necessary, they can hold their own in battle and tend to overcome their enemies. However, they show mercy when an enemy is down, and usually take the time to tend the injuries of the fallen before moving on.

Gurnei can heal themselves noticeably faster than others, though it's unknown why they possess this ability, or how it works. Their healing power affects their body in such a way that they don't age much past early adulthood when their hormones level out, but otherwise develop normally. Because of this, they are believed to have the lifespan of Elves, though it hasn't been confirmed because of the nomadic tendencies of the race.

Gurnei have astounding control of their Auras, and are able to use all forms. Most of them prefer to use Weapon forms and Familiar forms, though they are able to use Avatar forms to a degree of mastery should the situation call for it.

It is believed that a powerful mage attacked the Gurnei and annihilated the race more than a century ago; however, there are rumors that there are still a few Gurnei left alive.
