Sometimes when I hit the acoustic snare (red pad) on my GH drums, it double taps AUTOMATICALLY? I tried other spots but it does the same thing sometimes.
This problem happens about 40% of the time.
I need some advice.

I have no idea if this will work, but it might increase the sensitivity on the snare. Don't read any further if you want to invalidate your warranty.
Take apart your drum set base, revealing all of the technical stuff in there. Get a popsicle stick, and stick one side under the spongy-circle, and then stick the other side under the ring. Make sure that the stick is above the white circle with the two wires.
I tried it to increase the sensitivity on my snare, and it leveled out. It might level out the sensitivity on your snare though.

Are you sure? As for the first paragraph, my red snare's sensitivity is basically doubled, making hits to the red pad to double tap instantly. You suggestion might make my red pad over sensitive and may triple hit.

My friend had a similar problem, while I only had an under-sensitive red pad and I told him the popsicle stick trick, and the sensitivity leveled out. Do what you think is right.

i'd say hit lighter on it or put a layer of duct tape or a second padding on the drum pad.

Actually, my Red Snare isn't actually double hitting. Guitar Hero: Metallica's gameplay just sucks.
