im thinking on getting a tattoo my first one but idk what to get or where or if it will hurt real bad

Well for pain it usually hurts more if its on thin skin closer to the bone rather than thick skin. Like a tattoo on your arm would hurt less than... lets say... a tattoo right on your ribs, since the skin on your ribs is thinner than your arms.
And as to what to get, it should be something important to you. Like if you dont have a symbol or something in mind then how about a style?
One of my friends got her zodiac sign because it was something about her that symbolized her, while another friend got a butterfly to symbolize freedom.
A few more of my friends got designs done in a style they liked like Tribal or Celtic.
I myself am very partial to Celtic artwork.
