As I'm sure you've probably already have guessed; this section is devoted to ways of making someone feel better if they are sad, lonely, depressed, etc. You can place a sentence or paragraph from a book you've read that you feel will be helpful. Post a line from a movie or TV show that you feel will be helpful. It could be something you were told by someone else that help inspire you or made you feel good. I'm starting this off by submitting a quote.

All the Masterpieces

All the masterpieces of art contain both light and shadow. A happy life is not one filled with only sunshine, but one which uses both light and shadow to produce beauty.

MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENT

Pvt. George Phillips, US Marines

For sacrificing his life on Iwo Jima, Marine Private George Phillips was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. On 14 March 1945, standing the foxhole watch while other members of his squad rested after a night of bitter handgrenade fighting against infiltrating Japanese troops, Pvt. Phillips was the only member of his unit alerted when an enemy handgrenade was tossed into their midst. Instantly shouting a warning, he unhesitatingly threw himself on the deadly missile, absorbing the shattering violence of the exploding charge in his own body and protecting his comrades from serious injury.

sweatdrop This isn't really a quote, but a theme.

In the anime Naruto, the character Gaara is a self-centered, destructive brat. But that's only the surface. Gaara has the one tailed Shukaku sealed within his body. The Shukaku is destructive, and was the village's secret weapon of destruction. Everyone feared Gaara. Once in his childhood, he was upset that no one played with him...and he attacked the other kids, unintentionally, injuring them. The only one who seemed close to him was his mother's brother. One day, his uncle strapped bombs to himself and held Gaara close to him. As the bombs went off, Gaara's sand shield protects him from harm. His uncle reveals, that he had been sent to kill Gaara and he dies. Gaara's tears and anger made an "Ai" love symbol on his forehead. It meant, he loves only himself. He had no one...

On the other hand, Naruto, who had the nine-tailed fox demon sealed in him, had no friends and was an orphan. But there was an adult who was his teacher and also an orphan. Naruto was at least loved and gradually he made friends for life with his determination, gruff kindness and inspiring speeches.

This comparison shows that love can do many great things.

As Little T says,

"Love conquers all!" heart

This has a much deeper meaning. I hope I have not offended anyone by my thoughts, ideas, or beliefs.

A minister passing through his church
in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
and see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened,
a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw
the man hadn't shaved in a while.
His shirt was kind a shabby
and his coat was worn and frayed,
the man knelt, he bowed his head,
Then rose and walked away.

In the days that followed,
each noon time came this chap,
each time he knelt just for a moment,
A lunch pail in his lap.

Well, the minister's suspicions grew,
with robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
"What are you doing here?"

The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power.

"I stay only moments, see,
because the factory is so far away;
as I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is kind a what I say:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN TODAY."

The minister feeling foolish,
told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome
To come and pray just anytime

Time to go, Jim smiled, said "Thanks."
He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the altar,
he'd never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
and met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
he repeated old Jim's prayer:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY."

Past noon one day, the minister noticed
that old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim,
he began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him,
learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
But he'd given them a thrill.

The week that Jim was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn't understand
why Jim was so glad,
when no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse's concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke
up and with a winsome smile;
"the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
that he's in here all the while

everyday at noon He's here,
a dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:
"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP, AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN. ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY, AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN TODAY."
If this blesses you, pass it on. Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart

May God hold you in the palm of His hand
and Angels watch over you.

This is a quote as well as a song by Jimmy Buffet:
"Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On."

That reminds me of another great song. "Don't worry, be happy." Don't remember the person who did this song.

Oh! I've got some by one of my favorite authors and/or photographers. He's better known as the creator of Winnie the Pooh. Get ready, there's a bunch.

"One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries."

"Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."

"Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them."

"You can't stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes."

“Whatever fortune brings, don't be afraid of doing things"

“When you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it.”

“'Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?' 'Supposing it didn't,' said Pooh. After careful thought Piglet was comforted by this.” -A.A. Milne

Yeah, those are awesome Goth. Have you noticed how some of the most bazaar cartoons or anime shows can have a real good value or lesson of some sort to learn? That is why I love watching the anime show Fullmetal Alchemist and Avatar: Aang, The Airbender series. I've actually cried in some of those scenes. Especially the ones involving Edward and his brother Alfonso/Al in Fullmetal Alchemist.

I don't really have a famous quote to quote. But I did feel like sharing something. So, here goes....

Always remember to greet others with a smile and a nice compliment. You never know just how much that little bit can help them get through a hard day at work, stress from working long hours or commuting, trying to raise a family on limited income, or severe health issues.
