I thought it would be neat if we had a thread for people who need help with a project, but don't want to start an whole new thread just to ask a single question.

So I'll start I guess.

Q: When you knit in the round, how do you join?

Q: When you knit in the round, how do you join?

When I knit in the round, I knit one row normally, then place my marker on the right-hand needle, spread the stitches so I can get to the first stitch I made. make sure all the stitches are straight (very important!!), and start knitting the first stitch from the left needle. I've only ever used circular needles, heres a site with photos. You can also use double-pointed needles - I found another page that looks helpful. If I need help with anything I go to www.knitting.about.com. They have lots of free patterns 3nodding
