The Land of Freedom





Long ago a simple man-made island, resting in a large harbor was guarded by a tall green women lighting their way to freedom. For those lucky people to set foot on the shore of that island, she would become their savior. Through their desperate wishes to have a new life, a guardian was created to help them on their way. Silently this guardian watches her charges, until the moment one wish is made. She leaves the immigrants to their own devices. That is why she is called Fate.

The year is 1920, the war in Europe is over and the economy could not be any richer. A ship has just landed at Ellis Island. The people aboard are not ordinary people. Will they wish to destroy this place of freedom or find a new life?

The salty wind blew harshly in the faces of the passengers on deck of the way-word ship. After many weeks at sea the ship with its precious cargo made berth in the shallow waters at New York harbor. The sounds of the bustling mid-day city could be heard on the docks as the passengers exited the Ship to make there way in the new land. The atmosphere was just teeming with life and new hope.

A women dressed in brown silk and a black hooded cape hiding her face walked calmly down the gang plank and stepped onto the rickety old dock. With a deep breath she jumped up on to a cargo crate to get a better view of the new land over the heads of her fellow passengers. As the wind picked up in intensity it blew the hood from her head, exposing her long brown hair and green eyes. Sybella smiled a toothy grin gazing out at the city before her.

" This is going to be so much fun!" she exclaimed. Her smile grew in intensity as she realized, yes, she had made it to the new world.

A strange looking sea bird flew above the ship's mast I have returned..I wonder if this place has changed since the last time I was here., the bird dodged an over excited bird and headed back towards the rear of the ship. No one would notice him there and Jet could get his things and join the others at the front.
