It goes like this:

Whether or not any sort of god exists is a moot point because we have no way of knowing which religion out of the countless that exist in this world would have the correct idea of what the designer is, what their will is, or what proper rituals would be required to appease it. Said designer might not even be compatible with any religion in existence.

What do you think? Groundbreaking? Sucky? Already done?

haha me and you think alike.. its like.. we dont know if there is a god... ( i dont think there is) but if there was one.. how do we know were doing the right thing?
hey.. maybe its mad at us for doing everything wrong..

If there is a God, he/she/it made it so that there is no way for us to know which religion, if any, is truth.
Every religion claims to be serving the right God/s, and every religion claims to have seen miracles that are the work of their God/s.
And if there is a God, he/she/it also gave us free will.
A fair God wouldn't make it impossible for us to know which is the correct faith, or the ability to deny that faith, and then punish us for it.

That's the way I see it.

I'm confused. Are you arguing for me or against me or what?

Hm. I'd never thought of it that way.
Try getting all of the religions of the world to accept that, though.
Would never happen.

Good point! I've always had a similar idea, but not quite as you put it.

And I've always thought that if I'm a sinner for not believing then ... I hope they can forgive me lol

I'm just saying that it's pointless to worry about whether we're doing the right thing to make God happy.
So I'm kind of agreeing with you.

That is basically the answer most people give to pascal's wager.

It's a good point and I have wondered that for a while now. Although like Kuro said, getting the world's religions to accept this fact would be nigh impossible.

^^ Agreed.
That won't work on a lot of Christians though (I'm only picking on Christians because I know so many of them) since most of them will just be like "Well, the Bible tells us all we need to know about God, and all about his nature!"

Well, I absolutely agree with Ekeda.
But I don't really see any refference to the (in)famous wager. It's supposed to be a pragmatic argument, nothing more, nothing less! emo
