Um... seriously... I've taken Music Theory, and if anything a lot of the music that people listen to these days is moreso random notes than classical music. (Although still not random. It was an extremely stupid thing to say.)

Ayame-Yukari That is has no beat, and that it was easy to play. (What an idiot...) lol I haven't had many people say stupid things about classical music, mainly because i'm surrounded by other classical musicians all the time.

my english teacher was playing some bach around halloween time a couple years ago, and the girl sitting behind me kept complaining about how "it's just a bunch of random notes, it doesn't even have a beat to it!"
HAH! I'd like to see YOU play a bunch of random notes with such skill. rolleyes
and I've heard that people don't like classical music because it's "too soft" they wnat something faster and louder.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF FASTER AND LOUDER PEICES FROM THE CLASSICAL WORLD! scream

I was listening to Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 in D minor - Allegro non troppo (which I am using for upcoming conductor auditions next weekend) on my ipod in Spanish class(which I am a teacher's aide/tutor). Some guy next to me said..."...You listen to THAT?...Seriously?"
I told him that it was one of my favorite songs and that I know that is probably weird to HIM, and he said "Wow....what a freak."
The joke's on him really. He's failing.

Lol, pity. razz Shostakovich 5 is one of my favorites too. It makes me sad and angry. Another thing that bothers me is that when I play music on a speaker or something during a presentation, someone always has to say to change the song. sad

I've got one,
My Mothers cousen(SP?) came over one day to help us paint the house, and he gave me the radio and told me and my brother that we could listen to whatever we wanted to, well me and Brobro both love Classic Radio. Anyways we put it on and I could feel the stupid coming off him as he paused in what he was doing to ask
"What are they listing to....is that...is that Music??"
Then my mother yells at us to turn it off because we're going to make her sleepy...*Sigh*

And also that percussion is easy because all you do is hit stuff. That really ticks me off. I'd love to see any of them play my percussion ensemble part... ._.

A person that sat next to me in class said, "Ewww..." when itunes started playing classical and that alone made me want to punch him. evil evil evil evil evil evil (don't ask about the itunes during class... sweatdrop )
