Character Name: Alaizabel Llexis Xier;
nicknames: Dew (strongly disliked), Lex (rarely used, was called so by her sister), Vraenne (likes it because of the similarity with "vrana", which in her language means crow), Hope (profession codename)

Physical apperance: User Image
Dewvraenne has short hair, running down to her cheekbone, and normally ruffled in a half-messed haircut. Her hair is black, and gives off an eerie greenish glow when light reflects off it. Her captivating almond shaped cat-like eyes are warm yellow, with her gaze always moving quickly, scanning the surroundings constantly, resting on a single object only for a second or two. Her skin is pale and soft, although she's used to the hardships of the wilderness. Her face is shaped slightly triangularly, with full cheeks and lips and a pointy chin.

With her 6'0, she's surprisingly tall for a woman of her profession, but the rigorous training enables her to move swiftly and silently with little effort nonetheless. Her posture is slightly skinny due to the fact that she lives by herself and eats very irregularly, sometimes even forgetting to eat at all.
Normally, Alaizabel can be found wearing tight black leather pants and jacket, occasionally covered by a loose black hooded cloak, worn and torn in places. Thrown over her right shoulder and strapped diagonally over her back, she wears a simple robust backpack made from strong black cloth. She uses it to store food and various small items in it, or to stash away her cloak. She also wears a strong leather belt, equipped with a special retractable mechanism, and her weapon strapped on it - she's never seen to take it off.

Personality:
Dewvraenne seems to be the ultimate impersonation of selfishness. She only does what benefits her, and if it's on account of other people's wealth or well-being, even better. The only case she will do something that does not directly benefit her if if she finds it entertaining.

She has a moody personality; a remark she wouldn't mind yesterday might get you killed to day. That's one of the reasons why she rarely makes friends; those that she ever considered friends are mostly dead, some even by her own hand. She likes to laugh, but when she does, it doesn't sound she's having fun, but more like she's taunting someone; her laughter is short, rather loud and menacing, sending shivers down one's spine. In nearly everything she does, she seeks entertainment. With her free will taken from her in her childhood, she now feels she can do anything in the world, and for that reason can act like a spoiled child from time to time, simply following her desire without thinking about consequences. That's how she gets herself in risky situations; but she enjoys that. One could say it brings the spice to her life.

For unknown reasons, she despite the fact that she earns quite a lot of money with her "job", she still lives in small appartements or old half-shattered buildings in the slums. No one knows where the money goes, for she obviosly does not carry it around. Always on the edge of society, she finds herself in various gang fights and robberies; they attack her because she looks like an easy prey in the dark, walking alone. However, the survivors of such confrontations are rare.

Throughout her life, she developed a strange habit. When fighting someone or doing her "job", she tends to recite poems in a strange language, sounding like a spell incantation. Those are poems and folk songs in the language of the ancestors of her family; a long forgotten language no other knows. She learned it during her training as a bodyguard, for the family used it as a code for discussing tactics and security measures.

Occupation: trained bodyguard; working as a mercenary; occasionally thief (but steals only what she needs)

Biography:
Dewvraenne was born as the first child of Syen and Eyrie Kleo in the family of Xier, that traditionally lived together with the half-noble family of Sossyel, serving and guarding them. Her father was a member of the guard, and her mother was a housemaid. Early in her childhood, Dewvraenne exhibited surprising strength and interest in her father's job, so it had been decided that she would be trained as one of the guards. So it came to be that she, as the only woman amongs the protectors, became a personal bodyguard and maid if needed of the Sossyel family's prized daughter Eleissa Karin.

Vraeene also had a three years younger sister named Acanthia Ariel, who was born weak and prone to ilness; that's why the Sossyel family wanted to dispose of her - she was of no use to them. Her father, however, strongly opposed to that, and protected her until his yet unexplained death on duty. Dewvraenne was only 13 at the time, but she took on the role of protecting her sister, for they had developed a strong bond. However, she was still only a child, and after a year, a moment of lack of attention and the sister ended up dead in a suspicious accident. From that day on, Vraenne refused to speak. However, she still remained loyal, as she knew nothing else than serving the Sossyel family. Another year passed, and her mother died as well, literally worked herself to death.

Few years passed, and slowly, Dewvraenne started to see the world in different light. She realised that there were other paths open to her as well, and finally saw how she had been robbed of everything: her beloved sister, her parents, and last but not least, her free will. With her uprising nature awakened, she rose one night, killed the entire Sossyel family, and fled.

She lived like a rogue, stealing what she needed, and tried to make a living. But a bodyguard is not a job that needed, and nearly everyone prefers a man for the job. She knew she had to do something to prove herself, but what could that be? Incidentially, a notorious criminal travelled to the city at that time. No one dared to take him on, not even the royal guard who knew exactly where he lived. Dewvraenne, with nothing to lose, tried her luck - and succeeded. She killed the man silently, leaving only minimal bloodstains behind, and a little note with the name "Hope" written in elaborate writing on it. Almost instantly, she became one of the most valued and best-paid mercenaries, and somehow she always appeared exactly where she was needed.

As she gained experience with each successfully accomplished job, Dewvraenne gained confidence, and slowly started to develop in a woman she might be if she lived freely. She started to speak again, and developed a seemingly extremely selfish attitude, doing only things she wanted and enjoyed in. She started to laugh a lot, but those were short, menacing laughs. She hardly made any friends, and anyone who came close to that definition got himself killed soon. For some reason, she kept living in the slums, where she occasionally got attacked by people who did not know who she was and only saw an opportunity to beat up someone and maybe get his money. They rarely lived to see another day.

Dewvraeene soon got weary of the first city she gained respect as a mercenary, and moved on to the next one. It was easy for her to get a job now, with the word about her spreading across the lands like fire. Constantly, she kept on the move, travelling far and wide, killing for money and fighting for fun.

Weapons:

Name of weapon: Carvhael, The Harvester Of Human Lives
Number of Points: 10
Element: Lightning
Weapon Skill:
Quark Split - is basically a teleporting ability. The exact mechanism of work of this ability is not known, but speculations say that it splits the elemental particles, therefore its name. With a vertical slash in the air, a hole opens in the surroundings; it looks like the world was just a painted piece of fabric, and a hole was cut through it. Only the wielder can slide through the opening, afterwards it closes; it may be possible to get two across if they were wrapped around eachother, but that would be highly risky. A split second after disappearing into the hole, the wielder appeares: a) in a desired place, if she concentrates on the location of landing or b) several metres forwards in the direction she was headed if location is not specified. This takes quite some concentration to manage perfectly; the amount of energy it saps from the user depends on the distance and required precision of landing.
At the current skill level of the weapon, she can only teleport for up to 10 metres forward in the direction she is heading.
Radiant Eclipse - Holding the sickle vertically, Vraenne spins on her heels, sending a circular jolt of concentrated energy radiating from her. Can be used with lightning as well.
Description: Carvhael is basically a slightly oversized sickle, sharpened on both sides of the curved blade. It's shiny black hilt is made from onyx, and is curved with the name of the blade. On the end of the hilt, a small steel loop is placed for combining it with the other weapon.

Name of weapon: none
Number of Points: 5
Element: Lightning
Weapon Skill: none
Description: This is basically a long thin string, made from a very rare material, which is strong and flexible as well, and cannot be cut. Its coiled in a special retractable mechanism placed on Vraenne's belt. The string has a small but heavy lock on its end, so it can be thrown, reaching its maximum range and approximately 30-35 metres. Combined with sufficient speed, the thin string can cut through various softer matter, such as human flesh for example. Various objects can be placed on the end of the string, using the lock. She has some of them on the back of her belt and in her bag, and keeps on making new ones and improvising with the stuff she finds.

Talent(s)/Ability(s):

Name of ability: Borrowed Eyes
Amount of points: 5
Description of ability: Nighvision. Vraenne's eyes change - her whites become black and the pupils shink to a spot, shining oddly red. With this ability, she can see even in pitch-black darkness of the underground, locating any source of heat (living beings, machines..). However, this infrared vision is combined with a pinch of x-ray, allowing her to see infrared through exactly one layer of wall.

Elemental magic:

Fire: 0 points
Water: 0 points
Wind: 0 points
Lightning: 5 points
Earth: 0 points
Light Or Dark: 0 points - neutral

ezzelin, you pro looks good except the quark split. That is a too high of a point level move. So to be able to do that. Carvhael has to be at least 25 and at even that you can teleport very far but other then that it is accepted.

Yeah, I know it's a bit strong move - that's why at this level, it would be hardly useable, maybe only for teleporting a few metres forward, and slowly getting better with the number of skill points. But if that's still too much, I can strike it out and say I get it at 25 points (or more).
