What are some of your pet peeves when it comes to concert etiquette?
Two of my biggest pet peeves is when people pay attention to their cell phone or leave it on while a concert is going on, and when they don't pay attention to the stage. One time when my high school choir performed at a festival at Concordia University, someone's cell phone rang off the hook. Turns out, the phone belonged to one of our choir members. My choir teacher was SO embarrassed about it and gave us a huge lecture the next day about how rude it was. I was pretty embarrassed for my choirmates as well. I thought they'd know better than that.
To explain my second pet peeve, once when I sat in the audience to watch another choir group perform (my high school has five choirs: bass chorus, treble chorus, Chorale, Singers, and Jazz Choir), I noticed some students who came there because their teacher had offered them extra credit if they went. Obviously, they did not care about the concert at all because they were doing classwork instead of watching the performance. That angered me. If they did not want to be there, they shouldn't have to come!
My other pet peeves include: unnecessary talking, parents bringing unruly children, and clapping at inappropriate times (I mean, who claps in between movements?! D: ).

No one has any etiquette at all in this hick town.
Though generally our band concerts are alright because the middle school BDs send letters to the 6th graders talking about concert etiquette, so that carries over to high school. Choir, on the other hand, is horribly unruly. I wanted to punch everyone at the one concert I had to go to (one song for the concert choir had percussion and I was asked to participate). It's not just choir either; any sort of performance (like my niece and nephew's dance recital) brings out the uncultured hicks. Urrr. gonk

D:
We play for graduation and the grads DO NOT stop talking, even when we play. We practice to be just about perfect for THEIR commencement and we get ignored! That's frustrating. :c I also hate it when between musical numbers, the other groups talk. It's kind of insulting... you think they would know better, being musicians and all. I just don't understand. ;v;

~ Coughing and sneezing openly. D:< ~ Chatting/whispering! They think they are not disturbing use because they are whispering, but seriously, do it when we are playing louder movements, not during solos! ~ Getting up to go to the bathroom. Hello? GO BEFORE YOU COME. gonk ~ Eating/drinking! Hey, buddy, I'm performing, and my tummy is grumbling but you don't see me eat my sandwiches while rolling on the marimba. ~ People just staring at you. For hours on end. Really. I'm holding mallets here. Do you want me to poke them through your eyes?
Andddddd that's all I can remember. xP

D: I'm a choir singer, and my throat gets caught with saliva too easy, making my voice hoarse. In order to relieve the hoarseness, I have to either drink water or cough. Well, since we're not allowed to have water on stage with us during performances, my only other option is to cough and cover my mouth so my germs don't spread. |D And then for sneezing, sometimes it comes unexpectedly while I'm in the middle of singing.
