There would be no religious people, and I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. Here are some pieces of evidence to point out the extremest bastards.

I love that show!

On a more serious note, that dude who says Islam isn't a religion is an idiot. I cannot comment any further on his stupidity.

Looking back on when I was a believer, I would convince myself that my beliefs were for rational reasons, but ultimately what it was really about were strong emotional attachments and my ego. That's why typically when I'm arguing with a theist, I start with attacks against their religion on emotional grounds. For example, when debating Christians I point out that the Bible condones slavery, and the unfairness of the idea that people should be punished infinitely for finite crimes. Forget the argument from evil or pointing out the God of the Gaps fallacy; it's the emotions that are the barrier as far as I can tell. You have to learn to think like them if you want to get through to them. Once you have the emotional attachments broken down, I think you will have a much easier time introducing your rational arguments afterward.

So wait, with the Bill Nye thing, was it "Here's what The Bible says." "Here's why The Bible is wrong."?
Or did he just harmlessly bring it up without even making the connection?

Read the article. It was kind of in-between.

Bill Nye's agnostic, though...

The way it sounds like Bill Nye presented it, you could have easily just gone with the idea that Genesis was speaking metaphorically, but the crowd still freaked out.
