After being ordained as a Bishop, Santo received a set of elaborate clothing that he would wear to show his relationship with the Pope as well as his position. Occupation: Ordained Bishop and Protettore d'Italia are the official practices of Santo, but he has no real source of income. His housing and other expenses are nonexistent because of his relationship with the Pope. As the Protector of Italy, he serves as a royal guard of sorts and halts any crime or treason that crosses his path.

Biography:
Born in the heart of Florence, Italy to a male painter and female house wife during the early to mid Baroque period, Santo Salvatore was immediately recognized by his parents and the community as unique. They watched him grow up with a certain aura about him that always emitted confidence and comfort. At an early age, he began to study as an artisan of sculpture. He trained under his father for several years until he was sent out on his own to become an apprentice elsewhere. Luckily enough, he came upon a man by the name of Gian Lorenzo Bernini who agreed to mentor him after much convincing. Santo studied under Bernini from the age of fifteen to the age of twenty-three, a time period in which he learned the very meticulous and difficult trade of sculpting.
After his training was complete, Santo returned to Florence in order to take care of his family. He began to work create pieces of art which he sold to different royals around Italy in order to make money. Santo was well mannered and good in nature, performing acts of kindness whenever possible around the city. Although he did not seem like a very labor-intensive worker, Santo fared well with the physical tasks assigned to him. Due to his build, he had great speed and agility, enabling him to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. He helped his community, as well as the rest of Italy whenever he traveled, by performing various tasks regardless of their physical or mental strain. Among his major accomplishments is the assisting of Bernini in designing the Fontana del Moro and L' estasi di Santa Teresa as well as aiding the citizens of Tuscany during the final Black Plague epidemic of 1656. These good deeds soon convinced Italy that he was a gift from God and was destined for greatness. His innumerable endeavors did not go unheard and soon Pope Innocent X made arrangements for Santo and his family to travel to the holy city of Roma in order for him to become ordained as a Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. The ceremony was extremely lavish and was held in the central chamber of St. Peter's Basilica. High-level officials of the Italian Government and the Roman Catholic Church attended this rare spectacle in order to pay homage to Santo. As an ordained Bishop, it was now his undertaking to preserve and spread the Roman Catholic faith throughout the world. He was given the title Protettore d'Italia by the Pope himself towards the end of the official ceremony and was soon after taken away to the Pope's chamber secretly. Within the Quirinal Palace, the Pope waited to conduct a private meeting with the newly ordained Bishop. Santo somewhat confused why he was there until the Pope began to speak. Santo was handed a grandly decorated Court Sword and was explained his duty as the Protector of Italy; to rid the Italian empire of traitors and criminals.
After the meeting, Pope Innocent X brought il Protettore d'Italia to a hidden chamber inside of St. Peter’s Basilica where they could speak alone. The room was circular with a majestic cloud painted dome above head. Marvelous artwork lined the walls and floor, and in the center was a set slightly elevated circular steps that lead to a platform. Atop that platform was a deep thin indention in the ground. The Pope instructed Santo to place his sword in the slot and as he did, an extremely bright light shown down from a single paneled window in the dome. The path of light seemed to take the form of steps and once Santo took a glance back at the Pope and nodded. “Just above these steps lies the Sky of Light,” the Pope stated, “a place only select few lay their eyes upon. I myself have never seen it, but have heard descriptions of it. Some compare it to heaven.” With that, Pope Innocent X nodded to Santo in response before watching il Protettore d'Italia walk up the steps of light to the heavens above.
