Sailor Bo Peep? surprised
Well, the work I'd suggest would be to distance the outfit from those of the commonly known Sailor Soldiers from our Solar System. According to her backstory she was sent here from what must be an entirely different star. (And by the way, a Super Nova is just a classification of a star's life or size, not a part of the star's name, so it shouldn't be in her Sailor identity.)
If you look at what's given us in the series, you'd see that Sailor Soldiers from outside our Solar System typically have very different uniforms from Sailor Moon et al. Look at the Sailor Starlights, for example, or the Sailor Animamates. The only common thread among them is the Sailor Collar, and other than that you're free to use your imagination.
So, my suggestions to improve your fan senshi (list form):
1. Develop the planet/star she originates from a bit better. Doesn't have to be a real one (who ever heard of planet Kinmokusei, eh?), but it still has to be a heavenly body as far as her story goes. The name of one. If Betelgeuse goes super nova it's still named Betelgeuse, and if it had a senshi she would still be named Sailor Betelgeuse, not Sailor Super Nova Betelgeuse.
2. Develop a more original uniform for her to battle in.
3. Ditch the gun idea. : There's not really anything "magical" about it. I can see SM villains with gun-like weapons (Eudial comes to mind), but a soldier herself? Not really. Unless you can make it whimsical or magical somehow, but that's a stretch.
4. Avoid "she's like Sailor xxxxxx" when describing her. Instead of saying she's like x but with y, try and give us a description without comparing her to someone we already know so we can form a clear, original picture in our heads instead of just instantly picturing Sailor Saturn, which makes her seem even less original because Saturn's all we see in our heads.
That's all I can think of for now.
