I crocheted my first sweater using a pattern from Stitch n' b***h: The Happy Hooker. I used acrylic yarn, which naturally doesn't shrink, and the first couple of times I wore it, it fit just fine. However, the sleeves and the neckline have been gradually stretching lower... and lower...

[will provide picture]

I did do a swatch before I started making it, but perhaps I didn't keep the same tension on the hook when I did the sweater?

I don't have any of the original yarn left, so unless I took out the edging and used that, I don't think I could do any additions.

Help? Is there a way to somehow at least curb the stretching, if not reduce the length of the sleeves/ neckline?

It may just be the weight of the yarn itself causing the stretching. This is very common in sweatercoats and dusters. I don't really know of a way to stop it, but you could stabilize the neckline if you have a color that coordinates well with the project.

I haven't really had that problem before.
