This strange looking feller is an important character in my little rpg, and I decided to draw a headshot of him. I'd like Crit for him, and the axe too. It looks a bit plain still. heart Love heart Keene

i like it. umm..for the axe..i'm assuming you're going for the 2 in 1 weapons thing.. with the axe on one side and the knives on the other...i guess you can, develop that idea further, with having the knives much larger, like the axe head, so it can do real damage.. yeah... xd

it's good I'd say extend the length of the end knife to have the lenght of a short sword. that'll go in deep and do some sweet damage hehe.

It's just a two handed axe, not a double weapon. It would be more risky to him if the blades at the bottom were longer.
So yeah...the little blades are there for finishes and to give a a little edge to blunt bashes with the bottom of the axe.

The biggest problem I see has to do with the light source; The shading on the face suggest that it's a strong light source only slightly above face level, if not at face level. However the shoulder pads (which are damn cool by the way) act sortof as though the light is strait above and of medium strength. The hair acts as though the light source is high above, behind, and slightly to the right and strength wise acts like the sun. Also, placing bright highlights on the edges of all protruding parts of metal armor closest to the light source will really help add space. Little nitpicking things would be that his horns feel kind of flat, and it's really hard to tell whats going on with his undershirt. I'm assuming it's a ruffly silk shirt, in which case some detailed form shading is needed. The design itself is very good; very fancy and pagan. Makes me think of the Celts. However, I would take away some of the simplier, boxy shapes of the axes and make them more flowy; The guy himself doesn't have a single squar shape on him, he's made totally out of curves.
