Did you feel the movie was just a bunch of stuff mushed in so we wouldn't feel cheated?

D< and why kill Wash?

It was to fill up as many loose holes as they possibly could after their series was prematurely cancelled.

And they killed Wash because they're evil! > sad

I saw that movie with my best friend before I moved. I forgot what it was about though. Something about Reevers.

Yea, they had to fit as much in as they could to make up for the premature cancel. Also, I effing love Nathan Fillion.

They didn't, really. I mean, Joss knew it was going to get canceled from the start, when FOX starting running it out of order. He also had a deal worked out with Dark Horse to produce some graphic novels (which have been stellar thusfar), so I think he wrote Serenity just as a longer episode of Firefly, not to make up for anything.

I just mean that any plot holes that were left out had to be filled in during those. The graphic novels explained about Book's background, didn't it?

Yeah, but the thing is, it was PLANNED out that way, so it never felt forced to me, is all.

Should I give firefly a chance? I mean the biggest thing I have heard about it is that the stuff doesn't make noise in space, and that is just kinda a fridge logic thing. They got their facts straight this show is great!

I suppose, but by the time Fox started playing the episodes out of order he would have had them all finished, wouldn't he?

Nah. They were slated for, what, 16 episodes? Didn't even get that far. They were writing, filming, doing everything knowing that they were probably going to be canceled. Part of why each episode is so great, because they held nothing back.

Owwin: I would recommend it heavily, however, be prepared for the first and second episodes to seem very similar. The poilot was actually aired last (because Fox aired the whole series out of order), so the second episode had to be both a normal episode AND a pilot.
