Roku's Island

A small Fire Nation island which bore and was home to the previous Avatar Roku. Over 100 years ago, it was home to a prosperous village. When Roku wasn't attending to his Avatar duties, Roku and his wife Ta Min dwelt peacefully in a modest cottage here, raising their family.

Currently, the isle bares the resemblance of a barren wasteland, showing no signs of past or present civilization. This is a result of a volcanic eruption which took place 112 years ago that buried the island village in deep ash. In the end, Roku and his dragon, Fang, lost their lives battling the volcanic eruption in the effort to save the island.

Lu "Xian" Shang, The Earthbound Immortal

Xian's boat stopped at the great island as he lifted the body of his former master to the shore for burial.

"This is a fitting place." He buried Zero within the center of the island, building a shrine in his honor.

"Now be at peace, my friend." He placed the original copy of the Zhi Gundong within the shrine, leaving its fate within the hands of nature and Avatar Roku. "Be it burned or treasured. It's in your hands now, Roku."

He board his little boat, going back to Omashu.

As Xian left the island, a small sprout grew where Ryuko's body laid. The sprout quickly bloomed into an indigo flower that glowed in the moonlight. "Rest not if death is not the answer..." A mysterious voice spoke as the spirit of a large, black dragon surrounded the island.

Fierce returned to the origin of his power. The black dragon greeted him peacefully as he took the original copy of the Zhi Gundong in hand. As his hands touched the cover, unfamiliar memories surged through his head. He could remember some of Ryuko's life, but it was all bits and pieces that made him despise his birth more and more. "The Fire Lord must die." A great anger grew from his inner turmoil, forcing him to replace the copy and seek out the True Root. With his defeat, nothing short of the avatar herself could stop him.

The Perfect Firebender, Fierce left for the Northern Air Temple. Said to be the last confirmed place of Lu Shang. He lit up the sky as he jet propelled over the grim seas and into the even grimmer land of the far east kingdom.
