Yeah, but the first set are the parents/guardians, and the second set (the actual kids) are positioned to let you know what combination they are.
To explain, both Jade and John are different combinations of Grandpa's genes and Nanna's genes, while Rose is a combination of her mother and Grandpa, and Dave is a combination of his Bro and Nanna.

ActuallyI thougt that rose was half of mom and half of Bro's genes, while Dave was the other set of genes, and the same would be true with John and Jade. I mean this would explain why theyshare the moons of derse and prospit respectively.

I mean, the goo is never shown to mix in any other way.
