*Taking The Stage


"Taking the Stage" captures all the drama, competition and relationships in the lives of the talented students at the School for the Creative and Performing Arts. On "Taking the Stage ," these gifted students face difficult decisions in planning for their futures and because of their common bonds of artistic expression, form life long friendships along the way. Gaining acceptance to SCPA is an honor and talented dancers, musicians and actors have to audition to get into the school. Once they're there, students spend most of their waking hours honing their skills for a chance to prove they've got what it takes to make it.

*Emily Sones - is a young singer/songwriter who uses her music to express herself emotionally. Despite her beauty, she struggles with an eating disorder and often turns to her songwriting in order to vent—it's her way of telling the world everything that she feels about the things happening in her life. Emily Sones wants to be a professional singer/songwriter and is hoping SCPA will give her the tools she needs to make that dream a reality. One of the toughest challenges for Emily Sones at SCPA will be the boy drama that erupts when she finds herself in the middle of a love triangle with two of the new guys in school.

*Anna lisa Flinchbaugh - is a talented ballerina who was diagnosed with severe Scoliosis and forced to have two titanium rods inserted in her spine. This surgery impacted Anna Lisa Flinchbaugh's dancing greatly, as it caused some limitations in her movement and flexibility. Despite this challenge, works past the pain and prides herself on her ballet skills. When sparks fly between Anna and Carlton Totten, it not only jeopardizes her relationship with her boyfriend, Mike, but also tests her Christian morals.

*Emily Silber - is Broadway bound. A disciplined and extremely talented dancer, hopes to become a professional performer after graduation. Already a respected hip-hop dancer in Cincinnati, will prove to be a rival (and love interest) for Tyler Nelson at the school. Despite her vast talents, struggles with "body image" issues. Emily Silber will have to overcome her own insecurities and distractions from boys in order to reach her

*Aubrie Houchens - A junior who is all about the drama, is always in the know. A close friend of Mia Carruthers, Aubrie Houchens is a talented actress who performs in all of the School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) plays. Aubrie Houchens has great comedic timing and hopes to audition for Chicago's legendary Second City comedy troupe and one day end up as a player on "Saturday Night Live"

*Jasmine white-Killins - An incredibly driven ballet dancer, is the pride of the School for Creative and Performing Arts dance program. The envy of many other students, Jasmine White-Killins balances rehearsals for school productions of "Cats" and "The Nutcracker" with her school curriculum. As if that wasn't enough, this SCPA senior is also somehow finding time to fit in extra dance classes as she prepares for an audition for Juilliard.

*Mia - After being rejected by Jive Records, Mia is still pursuing her dreams of getting a record contract, but instead of trying to make it as a solo artist she has shifted direction and formed a band. Along with Aaron Breadon, Mia Carruthers's new band is already playing packed gigs and building a loyal fan base in Cincinnati. Mia has moved out of her parents' house and now lives with the rest of the band.

*Adam Calvert - is a driven singer/songwriter with his sights set firmly on success. After years of being home schooled, Adam Calvert has left the security of his small town in Kentucky to come to the "big city" and surround himself with talented people and grow as a performer. Being good-looking and naturally charismatic, Adam from "Taking the Stage" will also be the center of many crushes at SCPA.

*Carlton Totten - goal in life is to be the next Marlon Brando, nothing short of a film legend. With talents in acting, singing and dancing, Carlton is a triple threat, both in the auditions for "Fame" and for the attention of the school's girls. Carlton Totten comes to SCPA a little unsure of himself because he hasn't had as much formal training as the other students. Carlton felt pressure to be a "jock" at his old school and he's excited to be in a place where being a performer is revered and he can focus on improving his craft, with hopes of one day conquering Hollywood.

*Ian Watts - Ian from, we'll be witnessing the birth of a professional rapper. Ian Watts is a born entertainer and driven in his pursuit to become a rap star. Ian competes in rap battles in Cincinnati and has already released his own CD. Ian Watts will collaborate with Tyler Nelson in hip-hop performances this year and earn the attention of a respected rapper, which could be his ticket to a recording contract.

* Malik Kitchen - dream is to be a star on Broadway, and he's got enough moves, talent and drive that it will be a huge surprise to everyone who knows him if he doesn't eventually see that dream come true. A standout student, dancer, choreographer and a natural leader, Malik Kitchen founded The Definition, the School of Creative and Performing Arts' only hip-hop dance group, an extracurricular activity that includes his good friends Jasmine White-Killins.

*Jamell J.J. Howard - A senior who is one of Tyler Nelson's closest friends, Jammell "JJ" Howard is part of his pal's dance group, Black Rain. JJ Howard is also a talented musician and singer who oozes style and charm. JJ Howard's diverse talents include being a piano prodigy and roller-dancer. JJ Howard teams up with his friend Mia Carruthers to collaborate musically, and although their two styles are very different, they end up creating a cool mash-up.

*Tyler Nelson - The new kid in school, shakes things up the minute he steps through the doors of Cincinnati's School for Creative and Performing Arts. An outstanding hip-hop dancer, Tyler Nelson's got something to prove to the other kids, most of whom have grown up in the SCPA halls. Tyler Nelson knows he needs to focus on developing his talent into marketable professional assets if he wants to make it. Tyler from "Taking the Stage" also needs to work hard to maintain his role model status in the eyes of his little brother Chris, who is enrolled at SCPA.

▸▸ Odvious • No cybering, first point im going to make. We all know the cycle of life and we dont need details. We will keep it 12a so any sex scenes, time skip. Swearing is fine but not in every scentence odviously.

▸▸ Posts • One large picture, a few icons, maybe a quote? More would be appreciated. This is a lit - semi lit roleplay so your posts should have atleast two or three paragraphs, 7-14 lines in each. More would be great but i dont want a novel, otherwise il just skim through your post. Also, no one will be playing the Vampires, this is a romance and drama roleplay so i think it would be boring to play the Vampire. Therefor, you have to make it up. I dont really want anyone to die unless you want to quit. Dont be really pathetic like 'The vampire ran away terrified of the wolf' Vampires dont get afraid so BE BRUTAL! [Not too brutal though] and be exciting. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!!
