Marie's grinned widened when she heard his request, since they had gotten here she had wanted it to just go back to being the two of them. She realized of course she might have some explaining to do but she didn't mind. Vaul, though she had only known him for a short time, had become her closest friend.
John must have gotten an idea for his plan because he began muttering to himself.
Marie looked at Vaul,
"We could go to the barn out back, it's really peaceful, John will be fine for a few hours." She looked at him again. "He isn't going to stop talking to himself." She sw he was done and nodded her head to the door, leading him out to a tiny barn, she opened the doors and looked inside. When she saw Vaul was inside she sat down on the hay.
"Best place in this whole village." She murmured.

She saw him leaning toward her and met him halfway letting their lips touch. Marie smiled into the kiss, returning it happily. She let herself get lost within it. She couldn't believe that she hadn't known Vaul that long when it felt as if she had known him for years. After awhile she pulled away slightly.
"You sure we haven't met before?" She smiled lazily feeling more relaxed then she thought possible.

Marie thought of her travels, she had gone many places but never paid very close attention to her surronding. She just liked walking. She shook her head it didn't matter. He was here, and right now that's all she cared about.
She leaned against him relishing in his company, she was so relaxed and felt calmer and happier then she thought she could.
"i'm really glad you're here." She said quietly.

Marie felt herself shiver at his touch, happily she kissed him back, wishing that they could be back in the woods alone rather then surronded by this village. But she knew they had to be here, because here is where they could get him one step closer to a cure, to a long life. Because somewhere in these last few days it had become painful for her to think of him dying, and damn near impossible to picture going back to the way her life was before him. It didn't seem like a few days, it seemed like so much longer.
She heard his question and a grin broke out over her face.
"There is nothing else I would rather do." She smiled kissing his cheek before moving to press her lips against his.

Marie walked out of the barn the next morning picking hay out of her hair, the stuff seemed to be welded in. She growled a little as she pulled and due to her distraction ran head first into her mother. She glanced up at her barely awake.
"The council, I've talked to them, they have agreed to meet with him as soon as you two can get there."
Marie grinned happily, though still aware of the disapproving looks her mother was sending her way at the state of her hair.
"Where were you last night Marie?" Her mother asked. Marie looked back to the barn.
"In there, with Vaul. Where else would I be?" She was genuily confused at this, as if no other possiblity had crossed her mind.
"I better go get him." She said quickly to cut off any lecture her mother was prepared to give her.
She ran into the barn and found Vaul.
"Vaul wake up!" She whispered happily.

Marie cast a worried look in his direction at the sound of the cough before relaying the news her mother had just told her.
"The council, they'll meet with us as soon as we can get there. Which is great because usually it takes forever to see them." She flattened some of her hair down since today it seemed to want to stick out all over the place.
"Are you feeling alright?" She asked in an almost whisper. She wouldn't admit this, but she was deathly afraid of being too late to save him. She wasn't sure she could bear it. The only option in her eyes was to get him the help they were searching for.
