After the sickness, Angie began to develop superior night vision. It was interesting being able to walk the world at night, seeing things most ignored during the sleeping hours. However, her eyes did become much more sensitive to the light. She began to wear sunglasses throughout the day until sunset. She has about twelve pairs of sunglasses now. If she has to wear them, she might as well make it fun.
▌▌♛ ╰ DISCLOSED INTENTIONS
When the KING first mentioned creating a club to investigate the strange incident, Angelique was skeptical. There was something supernatural about the sickness, no doubt about it, and it did more than just spook her. They had no idea what kind of trouble could be waiting for them. Of course, her skepticism and fear evaporated instantly when the WARRIOR threw in his support for the idea. In her eyes, nothing could go wrong with her beloved around. Even if he didn't love her, yet, she was his friend, and she knew that he would protect her. Once the initial fear dissolved, Angelique's curiosity sparked and she became more enthusiastic about the investigation.
▌▌♛ ╰ HISTORY
Angelique knows she isn't shy, and she makes sure everyone else knows it too. Growing up with a house full of boys will do that to you. The youngest of six, the other five being male, Angelique was raised as one of the boys. Angie's conception had been such a welcome shock to her parents that they almost didn't believe they were having a girl. So, they had two names prepared, one super obnoxiously girly one, and a boy name. When Angie proved to indeed be a little pink bundle of girl, her parents decided to just keep Tyler as her middle name, as a bit of a joke on themselves. Unfortunately for them, Angie grew up preferring the male middle name. Her mom tried to nickname her Angel, but Angelique would NOT tolerate that. She still doesn't.
There was a lot of rough housing involved in Angie's daily routine, and so she never really learned how to control her temper or anything else for that matter. It was tough being a girl, especially a petite one, in the Brennan household. Her brothers were good guys, but they weren't the stereotypical older brothers who hid her away from harm. Oh no. They believed in taking care of yourself and fighting your own battles. Which was fine with Angie. She could take care of herself. Well, she could have used a little help sometimes, but she was too proud to admit that to her brothers. So, one day things got a little out of hand and she became the victim of a modern day stoning. Where did these kids live, in medieval times? There were too many to take on by herself, so she ended up taking the beating for a bit before the rocks suddenly stopped flying. One cautious eye opened to see why the onslaught had stopped and what she saw shocked her. A boy, an older one at that, was protecting her, beating off her attackers. The shock hindered her ability to move or speak at first, so she stood plastered against the wall staring stupidly at the boy with her mouth gaping open. Why would he rescue her? Then it hit her. He was her knight! The brave and bold knight that charged head first into danger to rescue a damsel in distress! Just like in the fairy tales that she would secretly read at night. She had one of her own! She had never pictured herself as any kind of princess or, god forbid, damsel in distress before that point. But he had rescued her, and for that he had earned her undying love and loyalty, even if he didn't want it, yet. After that she was never too far from her WARRIOR and, to her dismay, his KING. The KING was an ok guy, she just didn't trust how much the WARRIOR seemed to cling to him. The kids seemed to stop bullying her after that fateful day at recess, and she actually had friends that weren't her brothers. Life was looking up for little Angelique.
Then the epidemic hit the school. She was not spared from the sickness. A high fever was the worst symptom she had. There was a bit of nausea, but the horrible back and forth between sweltering heat flashes and biting cold chills was the worst of the illness. Depressing thoughts of death plagued Angelique's mind while she laid bed ridden staring out the window. The sickness had come on so fast and so severe that she honestly believed she was going to die. In fact, when she woke up healthy the next morning, besides a little soreness around her eyes, she believed she had died in the middle of the night. At school, still in a sort of daze, when Angie saw the KING and the WARRIOR also healthy she broke out in uncontrollable sobs. She wasn't sure why she started crying since she had felt happy to see them. This had been the first time she could remember crying. She had been pelted by rocks, called the worst names, and hated by many in the school, and seeing her friends healthy had been the thing to undo her. Of course, she made the two promise not to ever bring up her horrible crying fit again and life seemed to restart. That is until the students started gaining strange abilities. Angie's eyes began to ache more and more during the day to the point where she preferred wearing sunglasses, even indoors. However, her sight became enhanced at night, able to see as clearly as if it were day. After the abilities started popping up more and more throughout the school, nothing was the same.
▌▌♛ ╰ CHARACTER
☾-Bold- Angelique is not a shy girl, nor is she weak by any means. She doesn't believe in secrets or lies, so she will say what she feels outright. There is no look before you leap for Angie. She just takes the plunge.
✯-Overbearing- Even though the WARRIOR and the KING are her friends, Angie can't shake her proud nature. Kids hated her in elementary school, and so she still feels as if she has to constantly defend herself. If she assumes someone is hiding something from her, she gets very defensive and nosy.
☾-Competitive- Angie is not the most popular player in sports... Living with a house full of boys, Angie had to compete for a lot of things. On top of that, she was petite and so her brothers could just lift her over their heads and call the fight over. She always felt like she had to prove herself, and prove that she was stronger than what her stature made people believe.
✯-Creative- Though she would never admit it, Angelique's small size could be a hindrance when it came to getting what she wanted. So, she had to use other methods to reach her goals. She may not seem like it because of how loud and obnoxious she can be, but Angie is actually very smart and innovative.
☾-Inquisitive-Angie loves learning new things. Like the cat, her curiosity would get her into a lot of trouble sometimes, but it was all worth it. Whether it's weeding out secrets about her classmates or discovering the cause of the school epidemic, Angie can't resist sticking her nose into the hunt for knowledge.
