Kolau Mountains

[Kitsune no Gatsu Mei]

"The Kolau Mountain Range is located in the southwestern Earth Kingdom, near the provincial capital of Omashu. The mountains are held to be the place where Earthbending was developed, and the tomb of the first two Earthbenders is located under the mountains in the Cave of Two Lovers.

Though the north and western faces of the mountains are lush surrounded by temperate forests, the south-eastern faces suffer from a perpetual lack of rain. Small coniferous forests cluster at the base of the mountains, while higher up, this gives way to grassy plains which in turn shrink as the mountains get higher. The peaks of the mountains are rock and arid, with no vegetation at all. Though the city of Omashu is located within the mountain range, there are no other known settlements in the area."

[Kitsune no Gatsu Mei]

Walking out past the road, Ann stomped her right foot, pulling up a large mass of rock, which she hopped onto. Getting into a good stance, she send the rock shooting up the mountain side at a fast pace. Tilting her chin up slightly, she felt the wind rush past and smiled, grateful for some relief from the heat and sunlight.

She crested the mountain before sliding back down, concentrating hard on the obstacles on her way down. Once to the bottom, she repeated her previous process. Stopping only to eat, She made her way through the mountains. She reached the final summit by nightfall. By that time, she was absolutely wiped out. Laying her pack down, she barely unwrapped her bedroll before collapsing onto the ground, panting. Once she had gotten her breath back, she sat up and rummaged through her travel sack, pulling out a loaf of bread, an apple and a few strips of jerky.

After she ate, she laid back down and stared up at the stars. It was a clear night and it was easy to see the entire sky. Yawning, Ann turned over and pounded her fists onto the ground, causing two rocks to come together above her head like a tent. Crawling out, she unpacked a tarp and draped it over the structure, pining it down with a few rocks. Crawling back inside, she curled up and fell into a deep sleep.

The morning wind began to howl, whipping through the opening in her makeshift tent. Cracking her eyes open, Ann yawned and looked around before remembering where she was. Sitting up, she turned over and checked her bag before crawling out of the rock formation.

She packed the tarp up and pulled out some jerky and fruit for breakfast. "Well, I have enough food for another three days or so. I should be close enough to the bay by then." After eating, she packed her things and shouldered her bag bag. Pulling a huge rock up with her banding, she began to make her way day the mountains. At the base of the mountains were a few foothills, which she covered easily. Soon, sand covered the ground, making it apparent that she was in the desert.

Hogosya, the Lonely Warrior

Lifting the boulder with a relaxed pace, Hogosya began his morning exercises just outside his cave, high up in the mountians. Slowly he moved it over his head and around the clearing, keeping it exactly three feet above the ground.

Then he started to pick up speed, and began more complicated patterns of movement with the boulder. First it went side to side, then it went up and down, and went in spirals. After a while of this, beads of sweat began to appear on the back of his neck from the strain of keeping the boulder in the air.

Suddenly a twig snapped, and Hogosya whipped around to face the noise.

It was a young badger mole, which quickly scurried back into the hole it had just come out of.

Turning back around, Hogosya saw that the boulder had not dropped to the ground, but started flying down the mountian.

"Darn...I hope no one notices that." He said to himself, shrugging his shoulders to relieve the stress that was building up. Smelling the air, it was apparent that he needed a wash, so he headed towards the nearby stream.

The boulder flew for a while, and struck the ground near the bottom of the mountian.

Blade broke the boulder before it could hit him and he began to go up the moutain. He got to where the boulder came from and saw that no one was there so he made himself a seat and sat down.

Hogosya, the Lonely Warrior

As was his habit nowaday's, whenever he went out of camp, Hogosya sensed his surroundings with his feet at all times. It was one of the tricks his grandmother had taught him, before she disappeared, and told him that as long as he used it, no one could sneak up on him.

Well she was right, as it turned out. As he was walking back to the camp, Hogosya sensed someone sitting right smack in the middle of it. He didnt know who it was, since his sense wouldnt give him facial details. But it did tell him that the person was male, and seemed to be sitting away from where he would enter the camp.

Slowly stomping his foot on the ground, hard enough to make a rock jump into the air, but softly enough that someone could only hear a few feet away, he bended the rock in front of him and stepped into the camp.

"Do not turn around. If you move, I will not hesitate to fire." He said in an emotionless voice. He tried to make his voice reflect the fact that he was completely serious. "Are you with the Earth King's army? or are you a bounty hunter?"

Hogosya ran back into the forest, and headed for the nearest docks.

*Mioa walked towards the city of Omashu, excited to be starting a new life. She had just left her village a week ago, traveling on foot. She wasn't sure what she would do when she got there, but she couldn't wait.*
