Getting to the ice cream shop, just as Josh was closing the door about to lock it, Lysander waved his arms up in the air to get his attention. "Wait!" Seeing Josh stop, Lysander quickly got to the door panting lightly. "Just... four ice... ice creams... that's all... To.. To go." He barely got out.
Turning around, Josh let Lysander in and headed back to the ice cream area. "What kinds?" He said grumpily.
"Uh.." Unsure about Joshes grumpiness, Lysander answered. "Two chocolates, a vanilla, and a mint." As he watched Josh go and get the three ice creams, he frowned. "Hey!" He yelled from the front, "What's wrong?"
"You're girlfriend. That's what's wrong." He yelled back.
"But you don't -" Then it suddenly hit him. The numbers, her numbers. "A.. Aria?"
"Her names Ariel here." Coming out with the three jugs of ice cream, Josh began to scoop them out and put them into little containers. "She's going to be staying at OUR house, dude. Obviously Lola isn't to pleased. I tried to tell her that she was your girlfriend, but.."
"She's an outsider and can't know about it." He sighed out, "I'm sorry."
"Yeah, whatever. Just call her and talk to her."
"I-I can't." He shook his head, thinking about Doll back at the dorm.
Raising an eyebrow he looked at his step brother carefully. "Oh God. Please don't tell me you've got another girl."
"I-I"
"SANDER!" Slapping his hand to his forehead he shook his head angrily. "Dude, you're telling your dad AND Ariel. You leave ME out of this.. Geez, I can't believe it. You KNEW about this years ago."
"Yeah, well. I forgot. I was.. Busy.. And I.."
"No, no more telling me." Putting the ice creams onto the counter, Josh sighed. "I'm not going to learn anything else about this mess." Watching as Lysander was taking out his wallet, Josh shook his head. "Oh no, dude. It's on the house. You're going to need every cent." He knew exactly what his step father would do to Lysander to teach him a lesson. Their father gave a little something called toughER love. A whole lot tougher than just tough.
Frowning, he took the ice creams, put them in the brown paper bag, grabbed a few plastic spoons and left with only a thanks and goodbye.
