Yeah, I got my lip pierced about a month ago with a 14ga bcr. I would like to switch to a more appealing piece of jewelry but...I can't get the bcr out. gonk Advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

I'm assuming your talking about the rings with two beads (I totally can't remember what bcr is. XD) Anyways; put on a pair of latex or some other gloves and try to unscrew. =3

Oh, thank you! But I'm actually wearing one of these. It doesn't unscrew. ^^;

Smooth pliers on both sides on the "C", and gently prise it wider.

Hmm, well I did try pliers on each side, but they weren't smooth. How important is that part? o_o

Oh haha; I saw 'bcr' and was like.. uh.. bead captive ring? and was thinking of this.
You want smooth pliers because ones that have ridges can harm the jewelry leaving sharp edges and such. This explains what you should do with the pliers pretty well. >3 I've heard of some people using scissors to open up rings (you'd obviously have to be super careful) or they just tug enough with their finger to separate the ring and let the bead pop off. >3
Your best choice would probably be to go to a piercer since they put those things on super tight. >3

I've used the scissor method (tiny nail scissors) to prise them open before. I wouldn't suggest it unless you've got no other option, as it isn't the safest method.
I've just made my closure rings a little looser than usual so I can pop the ball out without hurting myself. They're my favourite jewellery for a navel piercing. ninja
