K, I wasn't gonna respond to this but here is what I think:
if you draw something for somebody expecting praise that is NOT the way to go about it. No, you shouldn't expect to be let down, but everybody has their opinion. They're not SUPPOSED to jump for joy just because you did something nice for them. neutral And they shouldn't have to lie to you either because you think it was a nice gesture. If somebody made me art I didn't like, I would let them know, even if they did it out of the kindness of their heart. It's not fair to just give something something because you feel generous and expect them to like it. Not fair at all. You have to know that some people...me being one of those sorts of people...WILL give you an honest opinion on things, even if it's 'mean'.
But that doesn't mean you should STOP. I mean, for crying out loud, not everybody's gonna like the nice things you do. But that doesn't mean stop. I mean, jesus, I've had plenty of horrible, negative comments and critiques on my art, but have I stopped? No. neutral I've learned to accept that not everything I do, even if it's 'as a gift' is not gonna be loved and cherished, even if I am proud of it.
and that is all.
