AKO_Slash Tonberry Crunch Silent Hill? Canonity? lol For one, Shattered Memories in itself is not canon, as it takes place in a different universe, apparently. And the only real way to tell canonity of Silent Hill are later games. Konami so cagey. And arguebly Silent Hill is the only video game movie that doesn't suck. Well a big portion of Silent Hill is that the characters have repressed memories. None are true sequels, since the towns and characters change. So they're kind of like Final Fantasy where the canon is more the mythology and villains. I think Silent Hill the movie let fans down by recasting the main character Harry Mason as a woman. Although I agree that Silent Hill is one of the best video game movies. The themes were only slightly altered, making it motherhood, instead of parenthood and how far a father would go for his daughter, and the writer also did so because "Harry was somewhat feminine, fainting a lot, screaming, and going to look for his daughter" Sure the themes and suppressed memory deal don't go quite as far as the games, and the detail change with Rose, but I don't think it's something to get too upset over. It makes it seem like another story/re-imagining of Silent Hill.
