just make an MMO on the Wii already. 2-d world view and 3-d battles. arena appearance based on location. legendaries would be acquired in single player dungeons or groups pending on how legendary it is maybe even in a once in awhile event. (like celebi and mew.) and have the pokemon that show up in what areas change by the season.

make a game where if the evil team whatever knocks out one of your pokemon, they take it and you have to fight to get it back.
