Upon looking at it more, the blue isn't too bad. I wish it were all blue and not black + blue, though.

Yeah, they said that they made the area around the 3D screen black because it contrasts the best. If the area was different colors on all 3DSes, you'd be getting different experiences on each with whatever game you were playing. If it was green around it, it would be disorienting playing Zelda, or blue with Pilotwings/SteelDiver.

I dig the blue, but I do wish I could pay, maybe fifty dollars more to get it custom colored. The midnight blue DSi XL that came out not too long ago is so good-looking.
