Last I heard, the death toll in japan was in the thousands, and five nuclear reactors were having problems with their cooling systems... Lets hope that this doesn't go from horrible to... Something worse that I can't think of....
I'm a bit appalled by the lack of sensitivity both from the people in this thread and by Gaia Online itself. Really, a disaster hits and their first train of thought is "Lets make items to sell!" Even if the first ten thousand dollars made from them goes to Japan, it still seems kind of tacky to me.
They did the same with the BP oil spill. ~Shrug~ People try to make money. If that's how people contribute, then fine. I mean s**t, the worst people can do is buy the donation items on the market just because they like how they look. Just donate to a cause. If they were serious, they'd look elsewhere or donate a s**t ton. I see nothing wrong with it. Lots of places are doing it and it's nothing new. :/
I know all that, but none of it makes me feel any less disgusted by people profiting from the suffering of others or from finding it tacky to make event items in the wake of a horrible disaster.

Wat a Tragedy, at times like these is when the world comes 2gether 2 help out, just like we have done in the past.
We truly let the Sheizsta hot the fan on this one... where is the compassion?
Hiroshima and Nagasaki... again.

Disclaimer: Not my comic or art or idea.
"Everybody but Japan seem to be panicking about the earthquake. I was watching the news and the anchorman asked, "So how are the Japanese people and government taking it? Has there been any panic or chaos?" two which the reporter answered, ".....No. Not really""
Honestly, last i heard the death toll for japan was ten thousand and rising, i may have heard wrong though, allthough bodies are still washing ashore, i also heard the second nuclear reactor is also having a meltdown, i seriously hope everybodys out of there by now.

I heard reactor 4 was having troubles and that the rods were exposed for others elsewhere. I have friends in Japan and a few relatives in Hawaii as well. I have not heard anything by either of the two groups yet.
