Mal sat there thinking for a second and shook his head. "Can't remember the name..." He pretended to be trying to remember it but he was bad at keeping secrets at times.

"Oh." Now she really thought he was being suspicious. Leaning back on the chair, she thought for a moment. It seemed like everyone was being suspicious all the time whenever she was around. The sudden realization that they were all hiding something from her hit her. There had to be something! "What's REALLY going on here, Mal?"

Mal froze for a minute and soon he blurted everything out. Where they were from, what Doll and Bells really were.... and about Doll and Lysander. When he mentioned the couple, his hands shot up to his tiney mouth and his eyes grew wide. "I said nothing!!!!!!"

Jenna stared blankly at Mal for what seemed like forever. Eyes never falling from his, she allowed her mind to race with angry, sad, and hurt thoughts. Why hadn't she been told this from the start? Did they not trust her? Was she to young to know? Was it her age? What was it?! Suddenly, her hands curled up into fists and she slammed them down on the table. "You all lied to me." Pushing herself up and off of the chair, which went flying behind her, she shook her head angrily. Holding back tears, she turned and began to walk away.

Mal jumped out of his chair and ran over to Jenna, grabbing her hand to stop her. He may be small but he was quite strong. "Jenna listen!" He turned her around to look into her eyes and moved them somewhere more private to talk. "We just needed some time to get to know you. We didn't want our secret to get out because it could end badly if too many people knew." He sighed and looked up at her. "Once we met a man and trusted him too soon. It ended in death...." He seemed to be holding back tears. The reason they hid so many things is that they wanted to protect everyone, not themselves, but their loved ones. "We don't know if they can find us here yet but we didn't want to risk it. We know you now and I trust you can keep this secret. And you can leave if you want, I know you're angry." Looking down at the floor he shook his head.

Setting her hand against her forehead, Jenna sighed. More feeling guilty for acting out than embarrassed. "No.. I understand, I guess." Rubbing her face, she held back the tears of frustration. "You had a good reason why you didn't tell me.." Turning so that he couldn't see her, she stared out towards the door. "My poor brother.." Was all she said, before taking hold of Mal's hand and making her way towards the door. "I don't think I want to stay here anymore, all this noise is bothering me. Is there someplace else we can go?"

Looking up, Mal felt glad that she wasn't mad at him, but he knew how it felt to be lied to. "Not that I can think of... well there's outside of here." He didn't know much about the place.

"Eh, well.." Looking at him, she took a moment to think everything through only to shrug. "Well, I guess then I'm just going to go home. I can walk you to the park so you can walk back with Sanders and Doll, then I'll head home. Only one more day until the wedding, I've got a lot to do to help out. Ariel had no choice but make me one of the brides maids." Sighing, she asked him, "So what do you say? Go to the park to drop you off then?"

Mal nodded. "Sure why not." He smiled again and as they walked out of the tavern, he started to talk about one of his many adventures and about where he comes from, sometimes smiling, sometimes frowning.

Jenna followed, listening intently on his stories. Smiling, sometimes even laughing at some parts, and frowning at the others. She couldn't quite believe everything that he had been through, all of what Doll and Bellatrix had been through. But as she felt bad for them, she didn't regret knowing the truth. Better to know the harmful truth, than an joyful lie.
