As he smashed into the bars, Mika couldn't help but jump back, if only out of self-preservation. She had been standing much too close for her own safety, and his snarling made it obvious Xhane had not been starved long enough. Once had had retreated back into the shadows, Mika gave him another smile. "Well that's not very polite. And it certainly doesn't sound like begging," she said, examining the rabbit thoughtfully. "I guess you aren't very hungry, after all. Maybe a few more days will temper that attitude."

Growling dangerously Xhane tensed briefly before closing his now slitted green eyes to take deep breathes to hopefully calm himself down. "No matter how long you starve me, I'll never beg." His voice was deceptively calm as he opened his eyes once again, his emotions hopefully calmed from his immense anger, he crossed his arms across his chest and sat stiffly in one of the corners filled with shadows, so as not to see his barely contained pain from his muscles spasming slightly with every move.

The growling ceased, and his voice sounded much more calm than before--but Mika knew it was only a facade. Xhane was still hungry and angry, just like a vampire. But his pride, and the pride of his family, would probably be the death of him--and the annoyance of Mika. "I'm kind of glad that you aren't hungry enough to beg," she shrugged, taking a bite out of the rabbit body. "I was a bit peckish myself." It would be an interesting experiment to see how long a vampire could hold out.
