Name: Middle Ground
Nickname(s): None yet!
Gender: Female
Physical Appearance: She is quite a small kimeti, well under the average as far as size goes. Her dark eyes seem to throw out ambient shadow instead of light, but otherwise there is nothing outstandingly remarkable about her appearance.

Personality: Middle Ground is quiet and inquisitive. She spends much of her time exploring the swamp on her own, moving at a pace that will allow Slow Down to keep up. She has a tendency to think out loud when she is making observations by herself, letting thoughts bubble up even as they occur to her, considering them and accepting or shooting them down vocally.

When spoken to directly, however, she often pauses and stops to consider her words, unwilling to say something until she had made a definite decision about such things. She is not intimidated by company, though she is not used to it, and is just as happy to make a new friend as to be alone.

She is very moderate in all of her physical expressions of emotion. She might be consumed from the inside out by raging curiosity, but all she will do is allow for a slight c**k of the head. Perhaps she is quite angry at someone or something, but she will only flick her ears back slightly. This control only occasionally slips.

Her link with Slow Down has gotten stronger as she's aged. Likely this is why she is so careful and slow when she interacts with people, and the source of her constant self-moderation in regard to her emotional responses to others.

Name: Slow Down
Age: Unknown
Gender: Female
History: One summer morning, this sizeable tortoise stopped her endless plodding through the swamp, her search for tender leaves to gobble interrupted by an unusual find. The tortoise was not among the swamp's brightest creatures, but even she could sense the embryonic mind of the larval kimeti suspended in the sack before her.

She remained near the sac until it hatched, a mere two days later, and provided something for the blind baby to curl against. Though she occasionally wandered off to eat, she never went far, and always returned to the young kimeti's side.

As Middle Ground grew and started to explore the swamp, Slow Down followed her. She is the kimeti's constant companion now.

Personality: Like most tortoises, Slow Down is, most of the time, an exaggeratedly slow creature. She is not snappish with strangers, instead regarding all sudden events around her with a sort of dazed wonder, and is constantly wondering where the next fresh batch of leaves will be found. She seems to recognize and appreciate gestures of affection given to her from her kimeti, though.

Name: Keep Quiet
Nickname(s): None Yet
Gender: Female
Physical Appearance: She is a very slim, dark creature; her fur lacks any kind of sheen, seeming to suck up light rather than reflect it, except for the portions where she is vividly marked. She is of average size; her eyes glow a shade somewhere between pink and purple, and hold a steady, piercing gaze.


Personality: Keep Quiet very rarely speaks. She is an observer, and prefers to keep her own counsel. She has never seemed to feel drawn to other Kimeti, preferring to wander alone and simply watch others as they live their lives. She has a remarkably strong memory and a sharp eye for detail, and is able to recall things with almost eerie precision months or even years after she witnesses them.

When approached directly, she still prefers to communicate silently, with nods or shakes of her heads, or conveys her intentions through body language. When she finally does resort to speaking, her voice is as dark as her fur, deep and resonant while still retaining femininity. She has a very matter-of-fact way of speaking, and rarely says more than she needs to.

Despite her somewhat standoffish behavior, she is not notably unfriendly. She is polite, and certainly never uses her observations to make anyone else's life harder. It takes a while to get to know her, but once one does manage to befriend her, they can count on a vigilant and steadfast companion.

Name: Looking Upwards
Nickname(s): None yet!
Gender: Male
Physical Appearance: Looking Upwards is a very vibrantly colored kimeti, with fur in shades of yellow and pink. His eyes glow a gentle sky blue, and are wide and expressive. His frame is quite large, well above the average size for a kimeti. He is densely muscled, compact and powerful, altogether an intimidating figure.

Personality: His personality is nowhere nearly as imposing as his appearance. He is a very gentle soul, inclined to be soft-spoken. He is very amiable, more than happy to carry on a conversation with a stranger, and is always quite receptive to new friends. He is a very passive individual, though, preferring to let others take the first steps in approaching and getting to know him. Once he gets warmed up, though, he is a loyal and steadfast friend.

Though friendly, he is not the most intelligent or learned of kimeti. He does not have a head for long memorization, and is inclined to forget names, if not faces. He balances these downfalls out with a general all-around sensibleness, however, and can usually be relied upon to be the voice of reason in any situation.

It is rare to see Looking Upwards angry at all, but when he does get angry, it take a while to work out of his system. He does not yell, but rather grows cold when angered. Working one's way back into his good graces is not particularly difficult. Looking Upwards has never been moved to physical violence out of anger, but considering his size, it wouldn't be wise to provoke such a reaction.
