Johnny K. Gambino is the wealthiest citizen of Gaia. He is also the most loved, most hated, most powerful and controversial. Johnny Gambino ascended from poverty and obscurity to worldwide power and fame. As a developer, he's converted a lifeless island into a flourishing recreational powerhouse.
History
His first appearance was made at the First Gaia Anniversary Ball along with his son, Gino Gambino. The Ball was held in his mansion on the Isle de Gambino. He later also held the Easter 2k4 party, the Gaia Olympics 2k4s and the Halloween 2k4 event. Unfortunately, the Halloween 2k4 Party ended with his mansion being destroyed and his fortunes being dissolved.
After the loss of his wealth, another family, The Von Helson Sisters decided to take the role of 'most powerful women of Gaia'. They hosted The Second Gaian Anniversary Ball. Gambino was disgusted at their pointless displays of wealth, disparaging them and saying that their late father would never have approved. He started causing havoc for the Von Helsons by promoting himself, even giving away some G Pins. In retaliation the Von Helson twins held Gino hostage. They told Gambino that he must agree to never come back to Durem (and never attend events hosted by the twins) in order to get Gino back. Gambino agreed, finally choosing to be a good parent, and was able to have Gino back.
With the people on his side, he regained his power from donations in the spring of 2005. With this, he built a gigantic tower. However, he reached his demise (for the moment) when an unknown assassin shot him from the Durem clock tower on April 1st, 2005. He was missing and presumed dead for a year, with Gino taking over his legacy.
One year after his supposed death, it was revealed that Johnny had merged with Gino on a molecular level, allowing them to split apart when LabTechX injected them with a Vial of Unknown Liquid. He and Gino emerged from the incident alive and well.
The Zurg
During the Halloween 2k6 event, he released the Red Bino Energy Drink, to raise money to rebuild his mansion. It was later revealed that Gambino joined a partnership with the Zurg's leader, "Mother," which shocked some Gaians. A little while later, on December 12, in an exclusive interview with Cindy Donovinh, he stated that his partnership with Mother had ended. He stated that some members of the Gaian Resistance showed him blueprints showing a Zurg plan involving the Zurg homeworld, Gaia, a "stargate" (which some Gaians call it), and Santa Claus. He said he showed the blueprints to Mother, but he disliked her explanation. He immediately severed all ties with Mother.
Over the next few years, Johnny Gambino's life was relatively uneventful. The eccentric billionaire slowed down considerably. So much so that his friend, Edmund, had to shake him up a bit. In May of 2008, Gambino hosted a formal prom (Prom Crashers 200 cool in an attempt to get himself back into the swing of things and possibly enjoy the company of some eligible single women. In July of that same year, it was Gambino who led the initiative to bolster the Isle de Gambino's athletic team for the Gaian Rejected Olympics. He did so by recruiting the help of a group of Devil Imps and reanimating a collection of corpses using the Serum 3A he had stored away in a bank vault.
Death of Gambino
On March 5, 2010 Gambino was found murdered in his home. He was last seen alive by his friend Edmund who dismissed Gambino's reported feelings of paranoia. By all appearances, Gambino met his end at the hands of Zhivago, Vladimir Von Helson's former henchman. After a struggle in which Gambino managed to relieve his assailant of the pistol he was carrying, Zhivago produced a mysterious glove which magically transformed into a powerful gun-arm. Gambinio received a fatal wound to his chest, and his murderer escaped into the night air in the form of a swarm of bats. Before he died, however, Johnny managed to scrawl his final words on paper, while thinking of and silently apologizing to his son Gino. The note was later found by a person whose identity was not revealed.
