I love the raven but the cask is still my favorite! I have all his works even the sappy happy stuff he wrote before his wife went and died and left him to stew in misery and absinthe

I've only read like 3 of his poems: Black Cat, The Cask of Amontillado, and The Raven. But I love his literature, and by far, The Cask is my all time favorite. emotion_bigheart

Just been re-reading some Poe. it is a real shame we do not seem to have good authors anymore. Poe's power of description is amazing but he could write more than just dark. He also wrote some great short stories and even happy poetry from when his wife was still alive. Rest in peace and be glad you could not see what people call literature and poetry nowadays.

i like the short stories and in american lit class we talked about the ending of red death and found that it could be the whole story is told from the red deaths point of view and what the prince saw was all an illusion and the ending talks about how many he took and cask i think it was told through the one who lead that man to death and it was fifty years later that he could be guilty but some say he wasn't but never could figure out why he yelled amontillado though

To show the man he had no hope of rescue, and because he had insulted him by saying he did not know his wines. Amontillado was a seasonal wine and not available during that festival so he was showing the man he was smarter than him. A misjudgment that would cost him his life.

Honestly, I'd have to say that it is either Tell-Tale Heart, The Raven or Cask of Amontillado. I cannot decide...I also like The Black Cat one...I think he did that one, right?

Honestly, I don't think I've read much Poe, which is a shame.
I've at least read Telltale Heart, and I think the Black Cat. Any suggestion on where I should go next if I plan on reading some Poe?
