Character Image:Gaia Name: Vampiremessiah51
Character Name: Krynul
Character Gender: Male
Character Race: Human
Character's Age: 37
Character's Position: Swordmage, Guardian, and Traveling Historian
Character's Weapons: Darkslayer (b*****d Sword)- The blade is black with ornate red runes carved into it, the blade seems to shimmer when Krynul touches it. Darkslayer and Krynul have a connection whereby they are inextricably linked. Krynul and Darkslayer fight as one, they protect each other and shield each other from harm and they cannot be separated.
Magic Ability: (if applicable) He can channel spells through his sword enhancing his attacks with magical energy. He excels at using these spells to defend his allies and on making himself highly mobile. A very important ability is his connection with his blade, Darkslayer. The blade protects him and vice versa, when holding his blade he is shielded by a magical ward which helps turn attacks, and he can repair his blade by meditating with it for several hours. The blade will also refuse to leave his side and will return to him if at all possible.
Character's Personality:Krynul is a consummate warrior. Filled with conflict and loss he has grown embittered towards the gods; all except for the Raven Queen, whose control of death has been the only stable part of his existence. He has little patience for weakness or defiance in others. If you hinder him you will incur his wrath and he will not be merciful. He has developed a dark and vicious in temperament but seldom cruel, not that it is wise to test this of course...
Character's Bio: Krynul awoke as a small child to find himself with no memory of where he might have lived, who his family was or even his name. As he opened his eyes for the first time in his memory he turned to see an older gentleman who promptly introduced himself as Azrail Angel'D. As the child recovered from his trauma Azrail began to train him in both the Arcane and Martial arts. He learned to revere the power in his blade and as he came to master it found ways of working magic into his mighty strikes. He honed his skills training both in the classroom and on the battlefield itself. Every passing year he became stronger and stronger until one day Azrail told him it was time to part ways. Upon seeing Krynul's expression he explained he was not in fact sending Krynul off, but he himself was going on a journey to a place far far away. As soon as he said his farewells to his pupil a rift opened in the very space behind Azrail and Krynul's master literally walked out of his life.
Over the years Krynul became a master of his art even at a young age. His skills were noticed by the lords of the village he lived in and he was sent to the nearby Baron's Castle to act as an Honor Guard. While serving as the guard he fell in love with the Baron's daughter Elvira and after facing the Baron (who considered Krynul his most valued protector) they became engaged. They grew ever closer and when Krynul learned that Elvira was pregnant with his child all seemed right with the world. Krynul had even met a youth on the streets, who much like him seemed to have no home, Krynul took him in and trained him as his own student. Krynul christened his student Mortalis, due to the youth's obsession with stealth and silent kills. As the boy's graduation present Krynul gifted him with a Black Dagger that he had been given by Azrail.
However one of the Baron's advisers grew jealous of how close Krynul had become to the Baron. The adviser, Dhember, sent a team of Assassins to slaughter him in his sleep. Mortalis who had been practicing in the shadows caught one of them and dispatched him only to be surrounded by the deadly strike team. He cried out and Krynul rushed to his student only to see the Assasins throw his body out a window. In a rage Krynul threw himself at the the assailants and annihilated each of them one by one with cold cruel precision. It was only then that he smelled the smoke wafting over the reeking stench of the blood soaked corridor. He rushed to Elvira as quickly as he could to find that one lone assassin had lit his home ablaze. He fled from the collapsing building and searched desperately for his fiance but to no avail. He tracked down Dhember and slaughtered him mercilessly only to be banned from the Baron's fiefdom and to be incriminated throughout the kingdom.
From that day forth he wandered the realms searching for a new life, a new home. His master Azrail was out there somewhere, the only true family he'd ever known. He scoured the lands searching for peace the black fire of hatred burning in his heart. His outlook on life grew darker by the day and his patience for the foolishness of those who attempted to assay him grew slim. Well on his way to becoming a ruthless pit of fury, Krynul showed no signs of remorse for those foolish enough to challenge him. One day however he found the Black Dagger he had given Mortalis stabbed to the hilt into a boulder. After drawing it he saw inscribed in the blade a message from his master: "My dear pupil, you search long and hard and you scour the domain, yet what you seek does not lie in these lands or any lands you will find, transcend space, and you will find the treasures that haunt and long for you. We shall be waiting my student, my son..." Krynul thus took up a new quest, to follow his master's instructions and to someday learn how to transcend the world around him, he knew not of what these treasures were, but he longed for his master and his family, and nothing, no being mortal nor divine would hinder him...
Extra Information: I play D&D, both 3.5 and 4 and enjoy both of them. I'm interested in joining this RP, it looks like an interesting storyline and a lot of fun. I'd like to see where it goes. Krynul will be based off the 4e concept of a swordmage.
