Dear Jack was it hot in here. King had left, leaving Mort and Gene alone in the middle of the sex ed classroom. She'd read enough fanfiction to see where this was going. Her hands were shaky, palms were sweaty, and her eyes glanced around the room. Why did they have to interact in this room, of all the rooms and of all the classes? Eugh.
"Oh, a movie club? That sounds fun... and yeah, I expect Danny to keep things lively." No, she actually didn't. She hardly even knew who Danny was, or Bea for that matter. Bea had been her partner during Minipet Battling, but that was about it.
Oh Jack, why did he ask about the name? "Er...Team Ditzies..." She mumbled it, completely flushing now. It made them all sound so dumb! Uggggh.
"Who are you teaming with?

Mort couldn't help but laugh a little. "Danny must come up with name, yes? Did seem bit ditzy." Though for some reason the normally pale ghoul was rather . . . pinkish like before. Strange. The class was over, their assignments finished - was it maybe because they were still in the classroom? Or because they both still had protection charms on?
A ghoul and a boil in a Sex Ed classroom, both with protection. Gene wasn't the only one who'd read enough fan fiction to know where it lead. Suddenly Mort felt a bit self-conscious himself and, just in case, he pocketed his free hand before it could decide to be sentient again; the lammit in his other on was still wriggling helplessly.
"Teaming with, ah, w-with Taryn, Alex, Yin, n' Chuppi," he listed off. "Will be Honey Badgers, 'cuz . . . don't care what comes our way." He refrained from the more vulgar language'd version, in case that upset her more. "Er, want to wish good luck. N' also, er . . . a-also say sorry for not making dinner plans 'fore Trials." He reached a hand out to her to shake, looking a bit guilty. "Promise, first thing after recover is meet up."

"Dont....don't laugh." The doppelganger mumbled, turning her head away slightly. Mother of Jack, today sucked. Awkward class, cool new acquaintance (not so suck), awkward chat with crush, getting teased by crush. What next, she would fail to adhere the protection charms to her Lammit right? Ugh.
The ghoul simply nodded as the zomboil talked about his team. They all sounded like... not ditzies. Their name was cool, too, though Mort's explanation was a bit awkward and forced. Hmmm...
Oh, dinner! "Ah, don't worry about it. There's been classes, and other stuff. After the trials sounds great." A warm smile covered her still pinkish face, as she took the boil's hand and turned it into a hug. Handshakes were for introductions, silly!
Oh, she had to go fill in for someone at work today, didn't she? Whoops. She broke the hug and started out of the room, before turning to give Mort a little wave. Maybe today wasn't as bad~

Hmm. Malodore poked at its Lammit thoughtfully. What an odd creature. Why bother expending such effort to keep them alive? Ah, well. It already knew that Nurse Cricket was fond of minipets, and sometimes one had to expend extraordinary effort to save the life of a patient. If it thought of the creature in those terms, it seemed like a much more valuable exercise.
Va bene, it would care for the creature with excellent husbandry. It stood up and collected a stack of charms, grabbing enough to bring back to Riley, too. "Here you are," it said, holding out some to her. And trying not to look embarrassed. Jack, they'd used the thing for its intended purpose! It was a scientific and thaumic instrument!
Why was it so... inherently embarrassing?

Riley was not in the least bit interested in taking care of the poor Lammit she'd caught, and she held it between two fingers by it's scruff, keeping it a few inches away from her. She looked down at the stack of charms Malodore had brought her, then back up at the plague doctor, tilting her head slightly. Did they really need that many? How extraordinary.
She took four, one place between the valley of each of her fingers, and held them up critically.
Thank you, my love. They will go to good use.
That poor Lammit was done for.
Let us retire, I wish to deposit this, ah, thing, at the dorms. And forget it exists, she silently thought to herself.

West's attention was drawn to Nurse Cricket as her voice cut through the rustling of the Lammits and the lively conversations of his classmates. Once it seemed that they had been dismissed and West had picked up his very own living homework assignment, he continued talking to Enzo long enough to... stop talking to him.
"Yeah," he replied. "Riley's the one t'see. Studen' Council president. Can't miss'er. I'm sure you can get in when, uh, things start 'appenin' again." He couldn't recall the last time he had attended a meeting of any of his clubs. Invasions by murderous humans kind of threw a wet blanket on leisure activities. "I could jus' take y'down there too someday." No one was stopping them from training wherever they liked these days, even if seeking out a Hunter or two to punch might have been a better use of their time. Still, he definitely wanted to learn more about the whole gambling thing the other boil seemed to be involved in. It was intriguing.
"Not right now, though. Gonna go, actually," he said, clutching his new Lammit to his chest to keep it from squirming. "We'll talk." And with that, West was gone.
