c wut i did thar?

anyway i learned today my friend, who has to wear glasses but can't afford a new pair when he needs them, could actually go blind from retinal detachment. its as serious as it sounds, the retina DETACHES from the eye. this would render you blind.

the cause? eye stress. his prescription is so old and his eyes have gotten pretty bad due to a lack of an accurate prescription, and like me being in front of a computer for a good portion of his life, its strained his eyes and now to a point where he needs to see an optometrist and get a new prescription.

he should be getting a new pair in a couple weeks but this was a bit of a wakeup call.

if you think you might need it i recommend this.

Lower your monitor brighness
and
use this http://stereopsis.com/flux/
tips for changing the settings:
the lower the better for night.
adjust daytime settings to your comfort level, my setting is about 1/4 from the left as is my friends. the change is noticable but in time you'll not even notice it.
be sure to accurately put in your location, with how it works its based on the sunrise time and sunset times.

this has been a PSA for the poor sighted.

fun stuff. if you got a prescription paper somewhere put it in on this.

I have f.lux on my main computer, definitely helps get rid of the strain of the screen in a dark room.
I had it on my netbook for a while, but it came with a couple problems that got kinda annoying. Good program though.

Also, Tritanopia makes things look pretty.

Oh god, you're gonna make me paranoid now about all those times I wake up in the morning and it takes a while to focus my eyes. gonk
