Seamus watched the Exchange and nodded to Gerulf as he approached, "looks like you had a great night." Seamus took a drag on his cigarette, he took note of the plate Number off the back of the cruiser. Dirty cops were a great resource, Seamus might have to pay the man a visit.

SIC VIS PACEMPARA BELLVM "Guten Nacht, Herr O'Connor. I thought I vas locked out of mine hotel room." Gerulf puffs on his pipe as he guides Seamus into the warehouse. Inside there are nineteen large rectangular crates lying on their sides. The words "DIESE SEITE OBEN" are stenciled on the sides with accompanying arrows. Gerulf walks over to one and opens it. There is a refrigerator inside. "General Electric Model CK-1-C16. Keeps sinks kalt. It ist 64 inches tall, 24 inches vide, 22 inches deep..." he reaches inside the crate and opens the fridge. "...unt ist able to hold ungefahr thirty MP18s." The inside of the fridge is packed with sub-machine guns and paper. He turns and walks over to another crate. opening it there is a PPD-40 with two full box magazines and a full drum sitting on the fridge inside. "Here you go. I voult usually charge sirty fife dollars for one of zees... But seeink as I am unlikely to be sellink zem any time soon it's yours for tventy fife." As he talks Gerulf begins walking around and finds his way to a slightly smaller crate in the corner. This one has oriental symbols on it. He opens it and takes what looks to be a Mauser out of it, but it's larger and heavier-looking. He walks over to another refrigerator crate and opens it revealing a large amount of ammunition boxes. He begins loading two of the odd Mauser's five round stripper-clips with Colt ammo while puffing his pipe.

Following Gerulf inside he inspected the weapons as they were revealed to him, looking over his purchase he was pleased with what he saw. Seamus handed Gerulf thirty five dollars from his pocket, "I'll pay what it's worth." He loaded the purchase into a bag he had brought with him, slinging it over his shoulder he looked around the warehouse. "I should have more information about possible shops tomorrow," he was waiting for Riley to return with a reply.

SIC VIS PACEMPARA BELLVM Gerulf finishes loading his new gun. A bit heavier than I'm used to but the extra punch should be fun. He puts a new holster on and walks over to Seamus. "Das vould be gut. Ze salt air ist bad for ze guns." Gerulf holds the pistol out to show him. "I received 30 of zees in a shipment of Mosin Nagants from a contact in China. Zey are Mausers chambered for .45acp rounds. I had ze opportunity to try von out in Afrika. Far better zan ze usual schiesse they make."

"Excellent," he replied looking over the new mausers, looking at his watch it was starting to get a bit late. He extended a hand to gerulf, "as always it was a pleasure sir, ill have to come back for one of those," he motioned to the handgun. He wanted to get back and talk to the boss, his personal arms deal had went down without a hitch and he wanted to make his recommendation. The russians had been solid, but Gerulf offered better merchandise for roughly the same price; seamus also suspected that if they bought enough they might be able to work that down further. It was refreshing to meet a fellow business man, lately it had been a lot of thugs and idiots.

"Have to talk to the boss, not sure what he wants stockpiled," he was going to have to collect all that for tomorrow. He saluted the man and went on his way, he was finally starting to get tired. The streets were empty, it should be an uneventful walk.

SIC VIS PACEMPARA BELLVM Waving goodbye to Seamus, Gerulf decided that he had beat around the proverbial bush for too long. And we all know how much those Chinese love their proverbs... With that he then began walking toward a meeting he had been dreading in a way. A meeting in China Town...

百戰不殆了解你的敵人 Xun Xue Yu's men enter the warehouse and look around. They find their crates. placed neatly off to the side just where Mr. Schreck had said they would be. One of the men notices a smaller crate in a corner and recognizes Beiyang markings. They open it and find about 20 Mosin-Nagant rifles and 14 large pistols that look roughly like Mausers. They load their crates and leave the warehouse...

Seamus jotted notes on the pad as he observed, he had been on the roof for a couple of hours. He had been spending days building their influence, and his nights were dedicated to scouting out the enemies territory. The krauts were holed up good, and they had strict patrol schedules. The one thing they didn't have was the flexibility and creativity of the Irish. Taking a bump from his coat he pulled the binoculars back up, deciding he wanted a cigarette he crawled to the opposite end of the building.
Once there he leaned against a chimney and lit his cigarette, to conceal the smoke he blew it into his coat. He hadn't slept much in the last few weeks, fortunately his habits allowed for that kind of operation. If he slept for more than three hours a day he would not be nearly as successful, his drive for information was an obsession. Once he had the information he could think like the enemy, once he was in their heads he could sabotage the important pieces of the puzzle.

A month has passed in the windy city of Chicago. It is now early April Spring may be here but there is still a n** in the evening air. It leaves you raw much like the long held tension of the uneasy truce between the gangs. The only question now is who will strike first and where?
